Congrats to Boone County's Zane McQueary for entering the 1,000-point club.

Also worth mentioning is Boone County's free throw shooting in the fourth quarter as the Rebels were a perfect 14-for-14 in the quarter. It is definitely hard to come back on a team when they shoot that well from the charity stripe in the fourth quarter.

Congrats to Boone. Certainly not what most of us thought with no 35th district teams making it to even the 9th region semi-finals. Funny how sports works out sometimes. Nice season by Holmes and this probably was the worst match up they could have gotten in the first round.

Numbers:

Boone Co: McQueary 13, Carr 10, Stanley 7, Palmer 7, Pitts 4, Schwartz 4

Holmes: Rice 13, Coston 9, Palmer 6, Martin 6, Englemon 6, Waller 2, Bolden 1

Too many missed bunnies by the dogs and way to many open bunnies for boone is the difference...holmes not attacking the basket in the second hapf after almost being in the bonus in the 3rd was also huge...not going to pick on the officials to much but rice had to baskets taken away on a travel where he did a perfectly legal spin move amd palmer got called for a horrible charge in which he also scored...i really thought holmes might blow this one open early they couldve easily entered the second quarter up by double digits but just coupdnt capitalize

How was the crowd turnout for this game and all of the games in general so far?

Can't speak for tonight, not there, but last night's crowd filled most of the lower arena. Very nice crowd.

This was a sloppy game the 1st half, both teams shot poorly and turned the ball over a lot. Both teams probably shot 20-30% in the 1st half. Wasn't a lack of effort for either team, just execution. They both had good looks. If either team had been hitting it would have been over at half. Holmes did a nice job on McQueary, but their double and triple teaming eventually lead to a lot of easy baskets for the Rebels. They got the ball to the open guys on back doors in the second half. They are well coached. The Bulldogs didn't give up but Boone made their free throws. Refereeing wasn't great but it was not a factor in the outcome. Boone's FT shooting and Holmes lack of offensive shooting was the difference. Nice season for the Bulldogs and it is tough to win this region, you cannot be off one game or you are done.

If you can fill the lower arena, it's definitely a good crowd.

Congrats to Boone on advancing.

Boone has now beaten Holmes 4 straight times. When was the last time a team could say that? Covcath mid 2000's? I know they beat them district championship 05-06 and three times during 06-07 before losing in region championship when Holmes was finally healthy.

Boone killed Holmes' zone. McQueary passing from the high post led to a lot of easy buckets.

Just testing the thread to make sure it's not closed.
Nope, it's open.
