Offensively, can't complain too much when you're into the 60s. I do think Augusta needs to step-up the defense though. Gave away too many wide-open threes and didn't do a great job of stopping folks once they got into the lane. Quick turn-around with Dixie Heights tomorrow night.

Agreed. Good to see this team maturing not just physically, but mentally. This is a game in the past that they could have lost, but they fought and stuck with it!

In a 39th district game, at the end of the first, St Pat leads 21-17. Banked in 3 for Bracken at the buzzer.

Augusta wins 45-36. Lady Panthers only scored 10 points in the 2nd half.

Congrats to both teams. Augusta will play the runner-up from the 37th district on Monay night at Bracken, which will be either Scott or Campbell. I believe Mason will play the winner of the 40th district.

Teams were in the lane yesterday and one team had several guys wearing compression shorts. All had on black except one who had on gray. Of course, the official told them one had to go, whether it was the black shorts or the pair of gray. This is a rule I've seen enforced several times.

I mostly understand, for safety reasons, the no jewelry rule, but I don't see how team members wearing different color compression shorts affects the outcome or gives anyone an advantage. I'm all for rules, but it seems a lot of KHSAA rules are made that do not have an affect on the game. I could even see a team having this rule, because it does make your team look better if everyone matches, but I don't see the need for a state-mandated rule on this issue. I was just curious if I was missing something.

What is the reasoning behind the rule that runners' compression shorts, t-shirts, etc under the uniform must match?

I heard rumblings of this. I realize some courses may be "easy" which could lead to better times, but if you're trying to compare an athlete's time to his/her other meets, a shorter course could skew things a bit.

Agree about the chute area. It was especially disorganized as the first 50-60 runners finished in the boys varsity race! Perhaps its length should be extended.
