Deming vs Augusta @ Bracken County

Featured Replies

Lady Devils are 0-2.

Devilman... got to see the girls in action last night before the PC/BC tilt. They play with tons of heart and NEVER quit. You all should be proud of those girls.

Augusta wins 45-36. Lady Panthers only scored 10 points in the 2nd half.

Very proud of our Ladies! I know Coach Mitchell has his reasons and I do understand them, but when these girls pressure the ball they get results. Staying in zone really hurts them as far as any shooter from the 3 point line. In all 3 games as soon as they start pressuring the ball, they gain. I think they are waiting too long to do it. On the flip side full court pressure does tire them out quicker. But I feel these girls can handle it. There are 3 quick girls out there, Mitchell, Fryman and Thomas, let them pressure, force turnovers and steal the ball, they're good at it. They created more opportunities last night by pressuring. Any thoughts?

From what I saw on Thursday night,I agree. However, with only 6 players you can't pressure for 32 minutes, especially with how tight games are being called.

Great to see these girls stare adversity in the face and overcome it by competing as hard as they do. Whether they realize it or not there are valuable lessons being learned on and off the court.

To have only 6 players you goin' to see them tire easily and such, but I believe if they pressure their teams more by going after the ball and putting the press on is the kinda of game I like to see, maybe do that interminatley during the game, let it come to them.
