Not sure about size, but they're out of the 3rd Region, between Owensboro and Bowling Green. I'm guessing they're pretty small; they only had 7 players.

He's been at Augusta since 8th grade. And before enrolling at Augusta in 8th grade, he attended St. Augustine School in Augusta and played on Augusta's middle school teams starting in 6th grade.

Don't recall seeing him at the game.

Over the last two years, they've graduated players that have been key players for 4-5 years in Whiteman, Wiseman, Kelsch, McCord, and Plummer. While they have a couple of talented upperclassmen and some young talent, I think that young talent will have to be developed. I feel like they will have to develop as a different team than they've been in the recent past.

Per the Ledger Independent's article: Cox has been an assistant coach with the district's boys basketball team for five years. Prior to joining the staff at the Mason County School District, he was assistant girls coach at Madisonville High School for one year; and assistant boys coach at Pendleton County from 2004 - 2009. If they really wanted her to return, I would think Mason County could have found those resources, unless the new STEAM Academy is stretching the budget too thin. As an outsider, I had heard back during the season there was turmoil within that program and had heard there might be a change at the end of the season. I just thought with their post-season run, any discussion of letting her go went out the window.

Yes. He was hired to teach middle school social studies at the beginning of this school year.

Augusta job has been filled. They stayed in-house and have chosen Terry Bray to take over the program.

Bill Bradley is an interesting discussion piece. Obviously he's had success with the Kittens and has coaches boys before .... However, who knows if either side is interested in making that change. Would he even want to leave a successful program to try to re-energize a program (what it sounds like many of you are saying needs done)?

Yes, it was open last year. A couple assistants were let go mid season. I think they have one assistant left, but I don't know how much experience he has.

Technically, though, to my understanding, a coach can "practice" but cannot make it mandatory until October 15. I guess that's where these statements come in: Following the opening day of school, there shall be no organized basketball practice prior to October 15. Following elimination, there shall be no further practice or play during the remainder of the academic school year.

I had heard that Coach Miles at Bracken County might not be returning, but nothing official. Anyone have any insight?

From the 12th is what I saw. Overall, I thought they did a good job. Professional, no absolutely terrible calls that I saw. And the crew tonight didn't encourage letting the coach whine in their ear for the next minute after every call he didn't like. Not that they didn't ever provide explanation to the coach, but they tended to avoid eye contact with coaches after a call. Made the call, immediately back to focusing on the game at hand.
