St Henry's Daniel Wolfer---Stud! In a class of his own!

There seemed to be some really fast times today. We had a runner whose previous best was 19:00+, and went down to just under 18:00 today.

That is awesome! My favorite runner knocked off 40 seconds from her best time.

Next week it's "Rumble through the Jungle" in Louisville. Hoping for some cooler temps and less humidity.

Where is your team headed, UK Fanatic?

I wasn't there but I did talk to some people who attended. I offer the following as nothing more than constructive criticism and something to consider.

Great venue.

Need to rent some port-o-lets . Runners , especially females, had to wait in long lines. I was told some schools rent them and put them on the track for the runners to get rid of pre-race jitters and drinks.

Spend a "little more" on the trophies. Sounds like Ryle took in a lot of money between entry fees, $4 admission, and concessions.

FYI

I agree, Clyde. I was surprised by the $4 to park. The inside bathroom had a line of at least 30 girls. Hope they all got to "go" before their race. I think the finish chute area was disorganized. It appeared that runner(s) could have slipped in front of others that finished before them while waiting for name and team to be recorded. No number bibs pinned on the runners, just sharpie numbers written on their skin.

Just things that could be improved on for next year. It's a beautiful area and nice location for a race. I did hear that the runners liked the course.

I've been on the fringes of XC for several years. That's generally due to an "easy" course or a course that may for whatever reason measure a little bit short.

That's my answer and I'm sticking to it. :D

Congratulations to Cooper and NDA on wins!

St Henry boys came in second, just 3 points behind Cooper.

Ryle girls grabbed second.

I don't know for sure, but was told the course was a "little short". As in around 2.95miles total length. This may or may not be right and not sure how they came up with that distance. I imagine they get distances with a gps. I'm not sure how a course is measured. The regional is run at Ryle this year for that region. I take it they will run the same course.

Overall, if it is 2.95 mile, 3mile or 5K, the runners all run the same course.
