D-UP
Awesome game. Deming never trailed after going ahead 9-7 in the first. I think Harrison County did tie it in the fourth. Mitchells and Carmack played great. Krista Smithers really shined grabbing several rebounds and I heard she had 19 points but am not sure. Fifth starter Samantha Woerner also scored and played good defense. Hannah Lovins did a good job off the bench for Deming. First time the girls at Deming have won the district since 1980. Congratulations to the Lady Devils and to Harrison County for their effort tonight too.
PRESSROW
Glad for Coach Mitchell and the Lady Devils. Snapping the long drought of not winning the district will be something this small town will talk about for a long time.
Devilman
CONGRATZ TO THE LADY DEVILS AND COACH THOMAS MITCHELL, after a long season of people doubting them and all the trails and Kelsey Carmack I really am glad for her, after injuries kept her from playing the last 3 seasons, as a Senior this is a extra "BONUS" for her. Jessica Mitchell seems to have her game face on every game as well as her sister Lacy. I know their Coach, thier School, Parents, Friends, The Community and The County are bursting with Deming Pride and Joy. It's fitting this group of young ladies won the Championship. A ovation goes out to Krista Smithers gave her best game last night. Deming: Smithers 19, J. Mitchell 9, Carmack 7, L.Mitchell 12, Woener 2, Lovins 0 HC: Nichols 13, Little 2, Doram 8, Cummins 8, Ingram 16, Philpott 0, Cook 0, Raffett 0. DM: 11 12 15 11 HC: 9 9 14 15 Edited February 24, 2012 by Devilman
