Final from The Fieldhouse.

For Cooper:

Holland- 16 points (7-9 FT's, 2-2 FT's)

McNeil- 15 points (5-13 FT's, 2-7 3pt. FG's, 3-3 FT's), 5 rebounds

Shelton- 15 points (5-7 FG's, 5-6 FT's), 6 rebounds

Maniacci- 6 points & 3 rebounds

Listened in to most of this one, and for three quarters the Augusta Panthers were right in it.

Certainly no disgrace to fall by 13 to the Cooper Jaguars.

Maniacci held to 6 points on the night. Others did some damage.

While there are no moral victories as such, Coach Hinson must be happy with his team's ability to run with the 9th Region big-dogs.

As suspected Coach Hinson's boys are formidable this year and Bach is indeed a blue-chipper. No breaks for the Panthers who jump right back into the upper echelon 9th Region fray tomorrow night taking on Dixie Heights where the Brandon Hatton/Brent Bach matchup should provide a show within a show.

The Colonels have a reputation for letting you stick around. They had better come ready to play in this one.

For Augusta:

Bach- 30 points (11-22 FG's, 2-7 3pt FG's, 6-10 FT's), 8 rebounds

Kelsch- 14 points (4-6 FG's, 6-8 FT's)

Snapp- 10 points (4-5 FG's, 2-3 FT's)

Cooper with a 37-17 rebounding advantage.

Augusta cut the lead to 53-47 in the third, but Cooper's size took over from there.

Offensively, can't complain too much when you're into the 60s. I do think Augusta needs to step-up the defense though. Gave away too many wide-open threes and didn't do a great job of stopping folks once they got into the lane. Quick turn-around with Dixie Heights tomorrow night.

Cooper was able to knock down some shots and put the ball in the basket.

Cooper had 2 starters, Maniacci and Hathorn battling foul trouble. It was good to see 2 others, Holland and Shelton, come off the bench and pick up some scoring. Holland is a ball player. Cooper will play Mason County tomorrow night.

I need to check out the Bach kid. I think I reffed one of his games when he was a frosh or a soph. I remember a kid that was really young and good.

If you check him out tonight I'll spring for the popcorn.

So generous.

I'll be in Lex for the day. Heading to the UK game.

^ Priorities all out of whack.

The kid can flat out play and is a gamer. enjoyed watching him last night and look forward to seeing him against Dixie tonight.

It's a great opportunity for the boys of Union to get to play in a place so full of history such as The Fieldhouse.
