I follow the 16:8 intermittent fasting schedule, usually eating my first meal around 10am and my last between 5 and 6pm. I also typically do a nearly full fast one full day each week (usually Monday). On that day, I only eat fruit/raw, leafy greens (lettuce, spinach, chard etc), and typically only take in around 500 calories. I've found over the last 18 months that this schedule helps me manage both calories and my blood sugar. This does go out the window a few weeks out of the year such as when I'm on vacation, but it's really been easy for me to maintain, and I don't find myself craving food or sweets.
  2. Boyle just finished 5th in the state tourney. Definitely one of the up and coming programs.
  3. A hot dog is not a sandwich, just like a hamburger is not a sandwich. A taco definitely not a sandwich.
  4. I coached both my sons as an assistant. I was not their position coach, although I was a DC with my youngest. I did not involve myself in decisions regarding their playing time. Neither played QB. I've seen it work out more often than not. You don't get to the HC level in High School football if you subscribe to the daddy ball theory.
  5. With 3 trips to a regional final and were on play from winning one of those and playing for a trip to the state finals.
  6. Somebody will be cashing in on all the new shirts/arm sleeves everyone will need to buy. I haven't been on the sidelines in a couple of years, but I guess those sleeves with the sticky material (like what's found on the gloves) have become pretty popular and they are just trying to standardize the grip enhancement that these sleeves can provide.
  7. Unfortunately, most of those stats came in garbage time. If the game had ended after 2.5 quarters, his numbers would have been pretty miserable.
  8. End game and time management were the big criticisms against Reid when he coached in Philly. It’s hard to believe now and what he has done in KC is really hard to believe. They were an absolute mess when he took over. Reid leaving Philly worked out pretty well for both the Chiefs and Eagles.
  9. If it's a close game, I think KC wins. Jake Elliot has not been good. I think the Eagles can and will score some points, and if they are clicking, and the defense does anything, they could win fairly big, maybe by 2 or 3 scores.
  10. Very busy road. I used to work right across the street from where the plane crashed. It's been many years since I've been there and I'm guessing the Roosevelt Mall isn't as busy as it used to be....If this had happened in the 90's there's no telling how many people would have been killed on the ground.
  11. That's about 90% of the BBN.
  12. Jerry is nuts. The risk isn't that Schottenheimer doesn't have HC experience. The risk is promoting an average at best coordinator who's never even been considered for a HC position. The problem he has is that no respectable, well regarded coach will take the job. Jerry has pushed out 3 Hall of Fame coaches in Landry, Johnson and Parcells. He kicked another super bowl winning coach to the curb who had 2 12 win seasons. If those 4 guys can't get the job done for Jerry, who can? Hence, he ends up with guys like Chan Gailey, Dave Campo, Wade Phillips, Jason Garrett and Brian Schottenheimer and 30 years of mediocrity.
  13. They will continue to use the chart and do what gives them the best opportunity to win at that moment. It's not just about the risk of not making it; each decision to go for two or one completely depends on the situation and score at that moment, not what MIGHT happen down the road. Each decision is about the now because that's the only correct information you have now. When the risk of going for two provides a better or equal return than going for one, you go for two...period. The math has changed quite a bit since the kick line of scrimmage moved back to the 15. Comparing kickers, I think the Eagles are even more likely to go for two in situations that dictate it because Elliot has struggled (the expected return for two is even greater because their kicker is more likely to miss). The same with 4th down situations (not to mention the Eagles success with the Tush push). The Chiefs have the advantage in the kicker department, so I would think they would lean towards kicking in borderline situations, although they have great success with creative play calling in those situations.
  14. I'm not surprised at the spread. With the Chiefs being two time defending champs and the perception that they have gotten all the breaks in getting to the Super Bowl, I would say the general perception amongst the betting public, would be that if this were a pick em game, most of the money would land on the Chief's. The Eagles at +1.5 is likely there to get more money thrown towards the Eagles at least early on. Think about it...it's really hard to bet against the Chiefs at this point. I wouldn't be surprised if the line goes the other way, and maybe the Chiefs end up as a 3pt or so favorite by gametime.
  15. Hurts hasn’t needed to do much this year because of Saquon. But in the playoffs the Green Bay game was his first in a couple weeks after a concussion. Then he played in terrible conditions against LA. His biggest issue is he sometimes holds on to the ball too long. If they get that quick passing game going and can get a big play or two out of it with Brown, Smith or Goedert, KC is going to have a hard time. If Hurts holds on to the ball too long and turns it over a time or two, the Eagles will be in a dogfight, which is what happened in their previous Super Bowl matchup.
  16. Look at it this way. Teams use hard counts all the time. And defenses don’t jump offside more than a couple times a game at most. But all the sudden you jump offsides 3 or 4 times in row in a situation where the penalty only moves the ball 6 inches? In a goaline situation, it becomes advantageous to keep jumping because the penalty doesn’t hurt you and maybe, eventually you can get the offense to jump. After the 3rd time I don’t buy that you’re getting “drawn” offside.
  17. Sensible? At best, he has been an average coordinator for his whole career, and has never been a serious HC candidate at anytime. And he’s been around 20 years. Plus Jerry never really even interviewed anyone else. It wasn’t like he had to hire him before another team snatched him up. If he had been let go, it’s not crazy to think he wouldn’t have even been hired as a coordinator anywhere.
  18. And I think the complaint about them “always getting the calls” comes from the fact that so often, they end up taking advantage of it. All teams get favorable calls… not all of them make the necessary plays afterwards to take advantage.
  19. In theory it’s to prevent the defense from just continually jumping offside in the hopes the offense finally makes a mistake. Otherwise that nonsense could go on forever. It can really only happen in goal line situations because of the ‘half the distance” enforcement which could in theory go on endlessly. I do believe if it had happened again, especially with the leaping, they would have called it. I think the answer to the how many times question is simply that you know when it’s becoming purposeful. As far as fantasy points, the defense would lose points as normal. Offensively, I wouldn’t think anyone would get the credit because no one person scored. I would think if there wasn’t a rule addressing this, most leagues will now put one in place.
  20. The Eagles have had some struggles against tight ends this year period. Last week Higbee caught 7. Geiseki and Andrews caught 6 or 7 against them. But Ertz is the only one to go over 100, and they've only given up a handful of TD's to TE's. The Eagles defense all year has done well in making teams work by not giving up big plays, and shutting teams down in the second half and keeping teams close. All while their offense, despite slow starts wears out defense and then hit big plays either in the running game or passing game. Couple that with Kelce not showing the same explosiveness that's he's shown in the past, and I'm not sure that Kelce is necessarily key to this game. I think it comes down to getting pressure on Mahomes and not letting him make big plays or extend plays with his feet. Not having Nakobe Dean is going to be a big problem for the Eagles in keeping Mahomes contained. If the Saquon does what he's done all year, and the Eagles can do what they did today in the passing game with Brown, Goedert and Smith and control the tempo, they will be tough to beat. I actually think the Eagles match up better against the Chiefs than they would have against the Bills. But the Chiefs have been there and done that so many times, they are going to be tough to beat.
  21. Philly is a top 5 TV market, with a large, rabid fan base that will absolutely be watching. Philly is also one of the most hated teams that people tune in to see lose. And those that don't hate Philly, hate KC and Mahomes and will equally tune in to see them lose. It may not be the most watched SB, but there will be plenty of people watching.
  22. I'm not so sure. If they kick they are still down a point and it doesn't change KC's strategy at all. Nor does it change Buffalo's strategy as they'd need a field at the very least. That's IF they make both kicks. All the other possible outcomes would require multiple things to happen. In a tight game, the ability to tie the game with one option (the two point conversion) gives you a better chance at the end than an option that still leaves you behind. Even in the first quarter, being down 5 or 4 points (if you miss the kick or two point conversion, or make the 1 point) are both worse outcomes than being down 3. Being down three allows you a chance to tie the game with a field goal. Being down 4 or 5 gives you less of margin of error because it forces you to score a touchdown. That's why the "Chart" that everyone refers to says "when down 5, you always go for two". It's not chasing points, it's what improves your chances at that moment of tying or winning the game NOW. And it maximizes your potential to close the gap with just one play while putting more pressure on the other team if successful. For what it's worth, here's the chart that almost everyone uses. The two columns on the left are for when you're down that number of points, and the right two are when you're ahead Down Ahead 1 point Go for 2 1 point Go for 2 2 points Go for 1 2 points Go for 2 3 points Go for 1 3 points Go for 1 4 points Go for 2 4 points Decision 5 points Go for 2 5 points Go for 2 6 points Go for 1 6 points Go for 1 7 points Go for 1 7 points Go for 1 8 points Go for 1 8 points Go for 1 9 points Go for 1 9 points Go for 2 10 points Go for 1 10 points Go for 1 11 points Go for 1 11 points Go for 2 12 points Go for 2 12 points Go for 2 13 points Go for 1 13 points Go for 1 14 points Go for 1 14 points Go for 1 15 points Go for 2 15 points Go for 1 16 points Go for 1 16 points Go for 2 17 points Go for 1 17 points Go for 1 18 points Go for 1 18 points Go for 1 19 points Go for 2 19 points Go for 2 20 points Go for 1 20 points Go for 1
  23. The Eagles still have some things to clean up, especially 3rd and long/4th downs. The Bengals did the same thing to them early in that game, with a long drive. But Fangio has made great adjustments all year, and if they can force turnovers like they did today they will be hard to beat. Saquon is just a monster and can literally score from anywhere on the field as can Smith and Brown. Hard to believe that Sirianni barely made it through the offseason and was on the "about to get fired list" after week 4. I've been an Eagles fan my whole life, and this is as good as they've ever looked. The only time I felt better was in 1991 until Randall went down in the first game against Green Bay.
  24. No complaints. Solid class....all are worthy. Parker and Allen should have been in a long time ago.
  25. It didn't. This is why these end-of-game scenarios are so fascinating to me and were my favorite part of game-day coaching. In the end, I think it comes down to giving yourself the best chance to win at the end. And late in the game, with only a few possessions left, against a very good offense, being in a tie game at that stage is the best option. There's no difference between being down one (if you make the kick) or two points (if you miss the kick or fail on the two-point try). There's only one outcome from that decision that's clearly better, and that's making a two-point conversion. And the only way to get that outcome is to go for two.
