The other thing those coaches have in common is that none of them have won any championships in a long time, with Summit's last title coming in 2007ish. Should players be a little thicker skinned? Maybe. But no one deserves to be verbally and sometimes physically abused by a person in a position of power over you. The coach isn't always right, and just because he/she yells/screams at you and calls you names doesn't make them always right. Yes, some athletes are spoiled, but they all deserve to be treated like human beings.

I guess the question you really have to ask yourself before moving forward is why do you think you need it. I'd wager that most haven't really thought about that question and are taking it because they read it somewhere or because they heard about how great it was from a friend. Once you answer that question, you can then determine if the risks are worth it. I think your diet plays a big part in the decision. One group who can probably benefit most from creatine are those who are eating a mostly plant based diet as much of the creatine we take in comes from meats.

I think it's something that if you want to pursue it, to really study it and do it under a doctors care. Genetically, kidney disease runs in my family, so I can't completely blame creatine. I'd venture that most people, as long as they do so reasonably, would be able to use creatine without any long term effects. Unfortunately for me, I just used it with no guidance or input from a doctor and with my genetics, that probably wasn't a good idea. I used it for the better part of 20-25 year period beginning in high school. I don't think high schoolers should be using it without strict supervision. And while some studies have shown that it can be helpful in recovery and muscle performance and efficiency, there are limits to it's benefits, and it's easy to overdose which only puts additional stress on your kidneys. Scientifically, for most folks, our bodies produce and get all the creatine we need from what we eat. In the end, especially in my situation, I don't think the limited benefits outweigh the potential risk. Not to mention since it's not regulated, you never are completely aware of exactly what you are taking. Obviously my opinion is biased, but at the very least, it should give one something to think about before diving into creatine supplementing.

I'm down about 10 lbs since the beginning of the year. Potential health concerns are what's behind. I'm focusing more on portion control on things I like and trying to eliminate unhealthy choices and processed foods. I'm not really focused on weight loss, but weight loss will be a welcome bi-product of eating better. Ironically, most of my current issues (kidney function specifically) today are likely related to the healthiest period in my life when in the interest of building muscle, I was following a super high protein diet and supplementing with things like creatine.

I get that the OC change might have had an impact. But overall, he didn't look explosive and had trouble getting seperation. The surprise was the fact that he has a pretty new, and expensive contract and there were no real replacements lined up. I agree the draft is deep, but rookie receivers are far from a sure thing.

Snippets? Over the last 10 games we almost saw the whole show. He was not very good in November and December. Don't know whether it was more attitude based or a sudden decline in skills, although the real answer is probably somewhere in between. You aren't wrong. And that's the problem. Tarter sauce is an accessory/condiment, not something that drives people in the door, no matter how great it is. Especially when you can just buy it at Kroger. Hot fudge cake is dessert...again, an accessory, and something that people don't typically look for when they are thinking fast food, and not something that will drive traffic...the main course does that. And while the burger quality is "as good as" any other fast food burger place, for a sit down style restaurant that provides slower service and higher prices (or a fast food place that is more expensive and not all that fast), it better not be just as good, it needs to be better. All of the things you mention might be unique and tasty, but you can get something almost as good (or as you said, just as good)faster and for cheaper, or you can get something better for just a little more. Ultimately, I think the chain lacks an identity. No real signature item, no real atmosphere or experience when dining in, and nothing they can really hang their hat on as being great at...except maybe tarter sauce or a fish sandwich which carries them for 6 weeks between Ash Wednesday and Easter.

It's clear that sit down places can and still do well. The problem with Frisch's is that they are in between fast and sit down food. I don't think the quality is good or unique enough for a sit down environment, and the speed of service and price prevents them from being truly fast food. They are kind of straddling the fence. I don't think a drive through is a necessity to survive in the food space.

I don't think you have to worry about getting sick from eating there. That's not why they are closing, and it wasn't the health department that shut them down. As I've said before, they occupy a weird space in the restaurant industry. Not truly fast food, but not really a good sit down place either. The food is good but not great, not expensive, but not cheap either. They just don't stand out as great in any aspect of their business. And with so many choices, you have to really stand out somewhere in order to attract and keep customers. Just too many places that do too many things better than Frisch's.

I think that would be pretty strange too. Lateral move at best, to a school right down the road from where he's at. Wouldn't make any sense.

Anytime there is a human involved in a process, regardless of how simple it might be, there is a chance for a mistake to be made.

I don't disagree, at least with the "time is now" part. I do believe he could get a better job than what Holmes is right now.

I'd love to see Sam get this job, and I'm sure he's envisioned himself as the HC at Holmes at some point in time. However, despite all that, I'm not sure he'd want this job or if it would be a good idea for him to take this job right now.

What does everyone think of the new rules from the competition committee? I think the new kickoff rule is a good one...kickoff's have slowly become throwaway nothing plays as over 80 percent of them have resulted in touchbacks. This new rule should increase the action in games, and result in more exciting plays. The downside is no more surprise onside kicks, although you rarely see those outside of end game situations where everyone knows they are coming anyway. The hip drop rule I'm a little more torn on. I see why the league did it...it is a dangerous play. However, it's going to be tougher to bring runners down from behind now. NFL stats say that this tackle only occurred 236 times last year across the whole league, so it's not as common a play as one would think. But it resulted in 15 serious injuries (the best example being Mark Andrews getting hurt). Of course on social media the complaints of "just put flags on them" are rampant. I don't see how either of these changes make the game softer and I'm constantly amazed at how much excitement and enjoyment people get from watching athletes get hurt.

Jay has it way too good right now and would be crazy to sign up for the scrutiny of coaching at UK. Plus he's an East Coast guy. He'd be the first call I'd make if I was AD at UK. But you better have the next couple calls lined up because I think Wright says no pretty quickly.
