Does she survive this investigation? Is it time to move on? Her record is well below .500  might be time for a new voice.

What's the investigation into?

The university won't comment. Former players and supposedly some current players are saying emotional abuse.

And not the first investigation for the same thing. Haven't looked into details enough this time around, so I don't know if it's a new group of players or this is still stemming from the previous investigation.

Coach abuse???  What ever happened to toughen up “buttercup”?  I guess today’s athletes could never survive under Pat Summit let alone Bobby Knight or Bob Huggins or Adolph Rupp or John Wooden.  What do they all have in common…..they were all winners and put up with zero variance from the “Coach is always right.”  Their way may not be today’s way with spoiled players that are looking to bail into the portal if anything happens that makes them feel less than special or appreciated.  Coach’s may not deserve the Monopoly money being paid, but the portal and NIL have created a cesspool of challenges…compound that with athletes potentially unionizing and being declared employees and our college sports programs may be decimated as we know them.

College athletics have already crosses the River Styx.   30 years ago, colleges gave a scholarship and had the kids in a stranglehold.  That wasn't right.  Being verbally abused 20 hours a week at a rate of $0/ hour while the department and the coaches raked in cash wasn't going to be sustainable forever.  The athletes got wiser and the coaches were slower to react.   There won't be anymore Bobby Knights.  They may win a little less, but they also won't be telling horror stories after you're dead.

The other thing those coaches have in common is that none of them have won any championships in a long time, with Summit's last title coming in 2007ish. Should players be a little thicker skinned? Maybe. But no one deserves to be verbally and sometimes physically abused by a person in a position of power over you. The coach isn't always right, and just because he/she yells/screams at you and calls you names doesn't make them always right. Yes, some athletes are spoiled, but they all deserve to be treated like human beings.

Just hate to see a coach’s legacy be tarnished by “investigating abuse” camouflage.  Call it like it is…the program didn’t win enough and didn’t appear to be progressing.  Is that enough to terminate, I certainly think so.  But, don’t run from that as the reason by making the Coach look like Hitler and the team a bunch of buttercups.  Looking back Geno Auriemmo(?) at UConn was almost villainized by his hard driving, no non-sense coaching style.  Now established he is viewed as a teddy bear.  Former successful Coach Mitchell at UK was from the same mold (except for his dance moves).  Not to overlook Kim Mulkay and Dawn Staley.  The fact is, win enough and your style becomes acceptable.  Don’t win enough everything is open for criticism.

Her players brought the allegations both times. Why are you going after NKU administration?

Exactly. And this is now the second time for this. There's a former player on social media calling her a psychopath, and multiple have come forward. AND the program has not progressed. Time to move on.

It has always amazed me that some of her players were emotionally scarred and aired their grievances publicly while many more never seemed publicly upset. Unless you were there everyday you really can't understand nor comment on the situation. I would say that if the university and players have lost faith in her leadership then it's in everyone's best interest to move forward with a new coach. Good luck to everyone involved, especially assistant coaches and other staff members.

Call it like it is.  She didn’t win enough.  Don’t try to find any other excuse.  Players always want to find an excuse, it can’t be them or their effort.  That is why the portal is so full of escapees looking for a coach they like better, more playing time, more NIL and all of these reasons make total sense.  Most college programs choose to delicately handle these types of player complaints without trying to gut the Coach while departing.
