Jerry Jones hires Brian Schottenheimer as its next football coach. He was the Cowboys offensive coordinator for the past 2 years. They went from dropping Deion Sanders to this.

Probably the sensible hire...which is why no one understands it.  LOL. The least Jerry like decision in 40 years.

Sensible? At best, he has been an average coordinator for his whole career, and has never been a serious HC candidate at anytime. And he’s been around 20 years. Plus Jerry never really even interviewed anyone else. It wasn’t like he had to hire him before another team snatched him up. If he had been let go, it’s not crazy to think he wouldn’t have even been hired as a coordinator anywhere.

I was listening to NFL radio and they said it could end up being a great hire. I think they need to replace Dak though.

Yeah, the early reviews on Brian Shottenheimer aren't exactly stellar. He has been a journeyman in the NFL coaching ranks.

All Jerry wanted was someone to be a puppet that he can continue to pull the strings on. The only reason he let McCarthy walk was Jerry offered 3 years and Mike wanted 5 years.

Jerry wanted someone who wouldn’t step into the slightest bit of his limelight.

The Eagles had more rushing  touchdowns in the NFC  Championship Game than the Cowboys did all season.

Jerry is nuts. The risk isn't that Schottenheimer doesn't have HC experience. The risk is promoting an average at best coordinator who's never even been considered for a HC position. 

The problem he has is that no respectable, well regarded coach will take the job. Jerry has pushed out 3 Hall of Fame coaches in Landry, Johnson and Parcells. He kicked another super bowl winning coach to the curb who had 2 12 win seasons. If those 4 guys can't get the job done for Jerry, who can? Hence, he ends up with guys like Chan Gailey, Dave Campo, Wade Phillips, Jason Garrett and Brian Schottenheimer and 30 years of mediocrity.

Here is an interesting stat I just saw today with the Washington Commanders making the NFC Championship game this season it now marks that all of the other 15 NFC teams have made the NFC Championship game since the Dallas Cowboys last did. 

Congratulations to Raceland Alum Tyler Boyles! He has been named the Chief of Staff for the Dallas Cowboys! This would be an even better job probably at a team without Jerry Jones as the owner. lol
