The Chiefs and the Eagles will play in New Orleans for the title in Super Bowl LIX in two weeks on Feb. 9th at 6:30pm on FOX. This is the 2nd time in the last 3 years. The Chiefs are the early favorites at currently 1.5 points. It should be a fun one to watch.

Ok. Never mind. That Chiefs flag was weak also.

I am enjoying it tremendously and looking forward to the second half.

The game most people claim they didn't want.  We'll see if viewership ratings bear that out.   I'm sure whatever network is up is currently sweating bullets.

I think the Eagles have a better chance this time around and they are good defensively. But I think Kansas City gets the three peat. I hope I’m wrong though. And I wouldn’t be surprised if the viewer ratings are lower than they have been for a good while.

I think the Eagles defense gets it done. My biggest concern after watching today is will the Eagles let Travis Kelce catch passes like they did Ertz today?

Both games today were the highest scoring championship Sunday since they began in 1970.

I don’t think they are worrying at all.

And those that don't hate Philly, hate KC and Mahomes and will equally tune in to see them lose. It may not be the most watched SB, but there will be plenty of people watching.

Exactly.

The Eagles have had some struggles against tight ends this year period. Last week Higbee caught 7. Geiseki and Andrews caught 6 or 7 against them. But Ertz is the only one to go over 100, and they've only given up a handful of TD's to TE's. The Eagles defense all year has done well in making teams work by not giving up big plays, and shutting teams down in the second half and keeping teams close.  All while their offense, despite slow starts wears out defense and then hit big plays either in the running game or passing game. Couple that with Kelce not showing the same explosiveness that's he's shown in the past, and I'm not sure that Kelce is necessarily key to this game. I think it comes down to getting pressure on Mahomes and not letting him make big plays or extend plays with his feet. Not having Nakobe Dean is going to be a big problem for the Eagles in keeping Mahomes contained. If the Saquon does what he's done all year, and the Eagles can do what they did today in the passing game with Brown, Goedert and Smith and control the tempo, they will be tough to beat. I actually think the Eagles match up better against the Chiefs than they would have against the Bills. But the Chiefs have been there and done that so many times, they are going to be tough to beat.

The betting lines sometimes baffle me.

Per the ESPN trailer:

KC -2

PHI  55% chance to win

Even though the two are not the same, KC gets the public's attention. It opened at 1.5. It would not shock me to see it trend back towards Philadelphia the closer we get to the game.

Buffalo showed you can run the ball on KC in the second half.

Washington Showed you can have WR's open and hurt them in the passing game.

This game will be a battle of wills...

Again, going with the law of averages here in believing Philly will prevail.

Granted, Washington by most metrics is a middle-of-the-road defensive team, but if Hurts looks the way he did yesterday, the Eagles have too much talent to overcome. If we get the Hurts we've had in the weeks leading up to yesterday, then KC can win. Philly is easily the more talented of the two squads. The Chiefs do have a way of of lulling teams into playing their game.

Hurts hasn’t needed to do much this year because of Saquon. But in the playoffs the Green Bay game was his first in a couple weeks after a concussion. Then he played in terrible conditions against LA. His biggest issue is he sometimes holds on to the ball too long. If they get that quick passing game going and can get a big play or two out of it with Brown, Smith or Goedert, KC is going to have a hard time. If Hurts holds on to the ball too long and turns it over a time or two, the Eagles will be in a dogfight, which is what happened in their previous Super Bowl matchup.
