I think this round is called regionals. As stated above the odd # district host odd years and the even # district in even years. The district #'s were changed from 2010 to 2011. How is this game in Frankfort again? This year Beechwood is district 4 and Frankfort is district 3. It was the opposite last year. Odd district host in odd years and even in even years. Why did the district numbers change from one year to the next? There wasn't substantial realignment from one year to the next?

An interesting side story is that a former Tiger is on the Paris coaching staff. Jake Besse was on a senior on the 2007 State Championship team playing tackle and defensive end. I thought in the original 6 class system Beechwood (and others) could have asked to move up. They chose not too because their stand was there was not a need for 6 classes. The current version of the 6 class system does not allow for moving up as I understand it. Should Beechwood move up? Its not like they have won every championship since the change.

I believe you said he "burned" Vocke! To me that means he was able do a lot of damage which the box score doesn't indicate. If he did "burn" Vocke (or Beechwood defender) he wasn't able to take it to the house. Cohorn made some great catches. I like the way he plays and I think most every team would love to have him.

Heard ESPN has created a spin off of their ABC partners show "Wife Swap". The new show is called Coach Swap. Rumor is that Merril Hoge submitted the Highland program thinking he would get a switch with college coach Jim Tressell. After all the problems at Ohio State, ESPN had to change things up and just use a local high school instead. Beginning December 5th Coach Mueller will be going to Dixie and Coach Spritzky will be going to Highlands. Should make for great TV.

If KHSAA ever goes to 7 classes Beechwood (and Mayfield) would be in 2A. Maybe that is what the "True Class A" Schools should ask for. :thumb:

My commentary is more an issue with the coaches. They have done the young man a disservice by not demanding better from him.
