  1. I don't remember max coming up till after the freshman season. Was the start in playoffs? Last freshman players I remember dressing for varsity games all year was Tom Bankemper and Drew Davis. Don't remember if Cody Elliot did as well.
  2. I'm guessing because of scoring on the questionable fair catch punt return and the short field after the fumble. But don't know for sure. I didn't see the game, just read about it here.
  3. Betcha Tates Creek was happy they didn't have to go play with the big boys in 2013. Wouldn't be able to run it up on the top teams over there.
  4. According to the post above they have CovCath, Ryle, and Boone Co left on their schedule.
  5. I heard the remaining teams decided to stay with KLA and run their league with KLA input. The report I got was the coaches decided that there would be just one division of 16 teams. Teams were divided somewhat based on laxpower ratings and geography. Of the top 4 laxpower rated teams, 2 were placed in each district. Teams are required to play each team in their district once and then can schedule anyone else they want including the Metro teams. North LexCath Dunbar Cov Cath NKY Lafayette Dixie Scott County Lex Christian South Tates Creek Sayre Greenwood Henry Clay Woodford County Bryan Station Glasgow Anderson County Looks like they did a decent job dividing the teams based on laxpower. Of the top 8 teams from 2012, there are 4 in each district. I don't know what the districts will be called but did so based on the northern and southern components seemed to be one of the dividing characteristics.
  6. I'd be interested in hearing about the calls you are talking about. There was one pass interference I can recall that that wasn't called on Beechwood. Happened to be on the Conner sideline so the same guy. He did call a very questionable call on Erdman with very little contact, then on the Beechwood side of the field late in the game the Conner player tackled Talley with no call.
  7. Fairview had open their schedule earlier in the year. How did they do against them?
  8. Were you at the game? The Conner fans around me agreed he pushed the defender away. If Conner doesn't get that play, it goes to overtime. In overtime the teams could earn it instead of a ref not just getting it done. On a positive note the Tigers are making close games with big schools with a handful of juniors (5) and the rest sophomores playing the entire roster of players present. That will have to help them in the future. I was really surprised when the Tigers kicked the extra point to tie the game. The normal holder for place kicking, Casey Erdman, was out with an injury. During the timeout after the TD, Casey was showing Joe Studer how to catch and place the ball down. Snap by Mahorney, catch and place by Studer. Great job by all.
  9. That grey haired guy with the striped shirt had a great game for the cougars! Especially on that last drive. No holding call when the jersey is being pulled down over the shoulder pad. No offensive pass interference with the receiver pushing the defensive back out of the play on the long pass. Sheer incompetence!

  11. According to this Web Page: Simon Kenton Football - Home Page PIONEER FOOTBALL Class 6A 2008 State Runner Up Regional Finalists 2009, 2010 District Champs 2009 don't know the accuracy. I used to have a boss that would get on me for using the term "a lot". Said it was vague and it really didn't tell him anything. He was right.
  12. Maybe this should be is a separate thread. I will probably get better participation and it would be easier to find.
  13. I'll have to pick Ryle in in an upset over the "Trinity of Northern Kentucky" in a close one!
  14. Funny how you were in the witness protection program when Pioneers were down 14-0!
  15. I thought he was saying that kids are only choosing to play one sport....or they are encouraged by their coaches to play one sport.
  16. After the 3 touchdown loss to the Beechwood Tigers and the Baby Birds already losing 2 games this season, should Highlands drop their football program? Purely in jest! Pointing out that we as fans sometimes forget what is really important in life!
