Tigers are loaded this year.

Birds -13

Tigers - 14

I think this game will be very hard for the Baby Birds to win. Beechwood probably has the most talented skill players at the frosh level in NKy..Hopefully most of the injured Birds will be able to play..

This should be the Birds biggest test outside Trinity.

For the Birds to win, they will need continue strong defensive line play and tackle after the catch.

On offense the Birds will need to get some balance in their passing game and BLOCK.

The birds can win this one but it will take a great effort.

You're not kidding. From the players to the coaches, HHS needs to be ready and on their A game. From what everybody tells me over here in the Hills, Beechwwod is the absolute real deal. I know the players will come to play, lets just hope the coaches guide them to victory!

Go Birds!

Beechwood has the skill players. Can their line hold their own versus the Birds? That is the key to the game.

This one is a little scary for the Birds. If the offense continues to be one dimentional it could be a long afternoon. The O-line is getting better and opening up the playbook could take some pressure off the run game. The extra time should help whoever is going to QB... Anyone heard anything about Hergott? Will he be ready to play?

I haven't seen Fieger QB, but have seen his arm and his legs... Got to be one of the stronger arms in NKY as a Frosh... Scary part is.. This kid is fast and mobile so DB's have to watch out for when he tucks it in. The kid played baseball for me and truely a gamer. Really good, heady kid. D-Line has been getting good pressure latley so that should help. Just stop with the two-hand-tag tackling on the outside and wrap him up.

Prediction...

Same-ole.... Same-ole offense for the Birds... Beechwood by 2 TDs....... OR...... New Balanced Game Plan and the Birds by 7

Of course I am just a bit partial to the passing game.... But that's just me

The Beechwood's line is good and will be able hold their own. The majority of the starters have a years experience because they all played as eight graders last year. The key to this game will be conditioning.

As to the blocking, I've only seen the frosh play once this season, but based on that viewing, they need to do a much better job moving their hips and feet in order to maintain blocks. This isn't the Jr. Football League any more, where if you took a good first step, the defender was and stayed blocked. Dixie's frosh did a great job getting off the blocks and making tackles. The O line must do a better job maintaining blocks if the Birds are to have success running the ball against Beechwood.

When I uppercased the word BLOCK I meant everybody (the receivers, the backs, the o-line).

There were 29 healthy players at practice today. The injuries are mounting.

Beechwood has 24 total players and 5 are 8th graders.
