  1. Sweep, that was spoken like a man who has dipped into his own wallet for the cause a little too much over the years....lol!
  2. You get rid of few uncharacteristic turnovers by the birds and this is a 2 touchdown Birds victory at least. Not sure I'm gonna hit the panic button just yet. I think this is a different game in November. PT will be a much bigger factor in next game
  3. Ditto. I should have just read your reply before i shot my big fat fingers off.........lol!
  4. First, I didn't say HHS was the ONLY choice for a top notch education, but rather an obvious one. Beechwood, along with a few other public schools in NKY are great academically and in athletics, but does not offer many of the programs and classes that a larger school offers. Also, Beechwood does not offer near as many sports for girls. My point being, that many more parents pay the tuition to go to HHS for academics rather then for athletics. You just don't hear about the kids that don't play sports at HHS like you do football team members. By sacrifice i meant that people often sell nice, newer homes to move to an older, smaller home and voluntarily pay higher taxes for the "privelage" to do so. I have two close friends who just did it last month before school started to be able to send their kids to Ft. Thomas schools. Happens all the time. People move, or pay tuition all the time for their kids educations. I bet if you really asked your friend why they are sending their kid to HHS they would probably tell you for the all around experience HHS offers their son. IF they don't, well, they are not sound parents in my eyes.
  5. You would be extremely wrong in your assumption. Many, many kids come to HHS from out of district and pay tuition for academic purposes. There are in fact many more kids that pay tuition or move into the district for much more than athletics, or football specifically. If you want your kid to get a top notch education and you don't want to send your kid to a faith based school, then HHS is an obvious choice in NKY. I just talked to a family last night that moved to the Fort from the west side of Cincy that very reason. Let's be honest, winning breeds winning in both the academic and athletic pursuits that many families seek out for their children. It's more about not settling and sacrifice when it comes to your children.
  6. I was talking to Drew Houliston's parents last night, and they mentioned how much PT mentors and helps their son (HHS backup QB) on both the football field and basketball court. They believe Drew is extremely lucky to have a young man like PT to provide him some guidance and friendship. Great for both of them.
  7. Yeah right, because every NKY team gets all the homer calls when playing Central KY teams........Give me a break!
  8. Ozzy bleeds Blue, and so does his family. That there is enough to tell me that there is no turning his back on an offer, any offer, to play for the Cats. Ozzy will do well and be just fine remaining in Blue and White for 4 more years. I will be more than happy to join in the tailgate with his dad and Uncles. Oh, and that wildman from Richmond!
  9. If Cris can get these young receivers to run the type of routes that his son Austin did when he was a Bluebird, then he could possibly have a better impact then some might think. Could make for an even better passing game that is already very, very good.
  10. The cuckoo's are running the asylum in B-Town these days for sure.
  11. I know he and his wife are expecting their first child this summer and he will begin teaching in a different school district. I know these issues contributed.
  12. Just heard from the horses mouth that Beau Menefee resigned. I feel sorry for everyone down there. I really do.
  13. Not even too sure about that either. Isn't Towles grandfather in the Baseball Hall of Fame. Just sayin, alot of folks know who his grandfather is and maybe even moreso than Mark Pike. Just an observation.
  14. Had a chance to speak with his dad and one of his proud Uncles on Saturday night. Proud as can be and as well they should be. Congrats Austin and family. I know this was a group effort and look forward to seeing the next Abner in pads. The "Cowboy" is up next. Should be another fun one to watch.
  15. The real question should be, could HHS, Trinity, St. X, etc. compete with teams with similar enrollment from Texas, California, etc.
  16. If Sipple does indeed want the job, I would have to think that he would be the man for the job. He has been a very successful head coach in Ohio and knows how to win. Montgomery would be an unknown as a head coach. A.D. Myers will make the right call here for their circumstances in Dayton though. He is very competent.
  17. I wouldn't call it horrible. I would call a fall stroll thru the Fort a "Pleasant" experience. Seriously, it's just a different experience than your typical Friday night game routine.
  18. No Collinsworth? I would think he would at least make the list.
  19. You might be surprised how good he could have been had he played RB all three years that he started. As it was, he only played about 2/3 of his Sr. year at the position and had some pretty good #'s in a very balanced attack that did not rely on the run like that of the offense that Miles Simpson played. Alot of ways to look at it. AC is apparently good enough of an athlete to be getting playing time at ND. Simpson may never see the field at UK. He may be getting recruited over as we speak. Hope not though, as I think he will be a good college RB.
  20. Way to stir things up with your 1501 post.......lol!
