Congrats Highlands!

This group has been called "mediocre" all year by outsiders and they went out and made a statement tonight. Big props to Billy Huddleston who was quoted in the paper yesterday saying "he and his teammates were tired of being called mediocre and they were ready to go." Birds defense was way too quick and physical for the athletic CC offense.

 

Offensively, Pat Towles was the man with 5 Td's....IN THE FIRST HALF! Let the Mr. Football conversation about Towles in 2011 begin. He was a man among boys tonight.

 

I said earlier in the playoffs that the further the Birds advanced in the playoffs the better they were going to get. They definetly didn't disappoint.

 

One word comes to mind right now...DYNASTY!

 

I'm calling it now...in 2013 we'll be talking about Highlands going for 7 straight. The next three classes are loaded. Overzealous a little? Maybe. But Highlands is in the middle of something special right now that has never been seen in KY High school football history and I don't see it coming to an end anytime soon.

I was doubting a lot of the people stating that Christian would win or give Highlands a game. The only thing I stated was that if anyone would beat them that it would have been Johnson Central, which didn't. It is very fair to say that the game between Highlands and Johnson Central was for the title, I believe that many believe that.

Highlands goes undefeated in 5A during it's four year stint in the class.

WOW !!!!!! This "mediocre" team is AWESOME ! I'm not sure if they have even peaked yet!!! they got better and better each game thru the playoffs.

 

THose Breds sure are special too!! congrats to NCC as well. Great season for both teams from Northern Campbell County !
