These boys deserve a lot of credit though.

I was doubting a lot of the people stating that Christian would win or give Highlands a game. The only thing I stated was that if anyone would beat them that it would have been Johnson Central, which didn't. It is very fair to say that the game between Highlands and Johnson Central was for the title, I believe that many believe that.

 

Some people said the same thing about the Dixie game in the second round. Congrats to Highlands truely a great program.

Towles finished with 167 yards on 20 carries.

 

Compton finished with 97 yards on 16 carries.

The Birds were flawless today and it was a very pleasant surprise to hear Corey Compton's name called a bunch and see him play in this game. I saw an interview with him done on the Highlands broadcast channel at school and it was before he sustained the concussions and he mentioned that his brother was going to miss the season but would come back for the finals. I wonder if he kept that promise and got to see Cory play in the game.

 

Congrats to the studs not only on offense but especially on defense hanging a goose egg on a fast athletic CC team. Also props to the best coaching staff in the state IMO. Turner, Weinrich, Meuller, Lorenzen.......tons of experience and great leadership.

Agreed! He had a lot of missed time to make up for, and he sure did!

 

I loved it that he got to close out his career with a TD in the finals!

Man it was nice to see Cory Compton back on the field today. He brings an added dimension to the offense. Great job Birds! Thanks to all the seniors for their hard work over the past 4 years. You will be missed.
