2011 Highlands Bluebirds

Featured Replies

The Birds will return 4 starters on both sides of the ball including bonafide Division 1 caliber players Patrick Towles and Drake Bruns. The JV and Frosh group were both undefeated this season with blowout wins in most of their contests including signature wins over 6A St X. Will the Birds have what it takes to re-load and 5peat? Who are some of the players to compete for the 14 other positions to start Spring ball?

Do your numbers include getting Quillen(sp) back at LB? That was a huge hit to the team early on.

Birds will indeed reload next year.

Look for guys like Jac Collinsworth, Donovan McCoy, David Christian, Colin Seidl, and Ben Streeter to all step up and fill a role at the skill positions.

Returners True, New, Towles, Bruns Brothers, Quillen, and Sheehan, to name a few, will all lead this team next year.

Birds are absolutely loaded with the frosh class they have coming up as sophomores.

On the line, they'll return Austin Trapp and Aaron Robinson.

They also have some line who received nice minutes this year like Jason W.

I predict there will be 4 or 5 sophs that start for the Birds next year..This class is ridiculously loaded and there is no way Dale will be able to keep some of these kids off the field..JMO

Highlands will win their games against 4A opponents by an average of 33 points a game next year. Go ahead and tell Riherds to fire up the engraver

Quillen will anchor the defense and I did not include him. Thanks 75. New, Quillen, Dressman, Bowden, Drake n Devin Bruns are going to be strong on Defense. I look for soph LB Reid Schroeder to fill a spot and possibly Connor Poston. Sam Chambers also played a bunch at LB. Offensively they will have several targets for Towles. Christian (18 TDs for JV I believe), Sheehan the Vet, Jac Collinsworth, Baeu Mcghee and Luke Turner. The line spots should be up for grabs imo. Schweitzer who will be a soph is a beast, Trapp improved as a starter this year and Robinson has experience. Others could be Schultz, Whitford, Waldenmayer, Meyer. In the backfield ID look for Jake True and D. McCoy to see a lot of carries and the speedy Colin Seidl also.

The future definitely looks bright for Highlands!

The 2011 season starts today guys... new challenges await! Go 'Birds!!!

I wouldnt go that far, at the most 2 could start and those would be Schweitzer and Harris. You gotta remember, this is Highlands football and there are kids in the Soph and Jr class this year that will come out of nowhere during spring ball and then others that are expected to step in simply do so. I do expect another undefeated JV season next year though.

I would think that Jalen Hayes would be a key in both kickoff and punt returns.
