I hope they move the POY and COY voting to a date post District Tournament. IMHO those results should have an impact on this voting for both.

Excellent choice for RC. Bottom line is he may be the best Coach in the 10th region girls or boys and he has been one of the most successful and he truly cares about his kids.

As my Coach told us when we played them, "be respectful, most of you boys will need a job some day and those guys will own the companies where you may work".

Heygi is a legit 10th Region POY candidate. I don't know much about the other kids but they are well coached and have a large student body to pick from.

To all my BGP compatriots. Thanks to all of you for spending the time, making the sacrifices, finding equipment money when there is none, rebounding thousands of shots, traveling to games, etc. but most importantly giving your children your 100%, unwavering support in the good times and bad. Enjoy your day guys.

I keep posting this every year: let's get serious and do it right or stop doing at all.

He definitely won't hurt us this year. We'll have decent size (for us) and we'll be very young. Guard play will be a key for us this year and we need a couple of veteran guards to step up to fill a huge void. Our younger guards are going to be very, very good in time and that may be next year when they're Sophomores. Whoever plays and works the hardest in this rebuilding year will play most minutes. I'm hopeful that by tournament time they'll be ready to pull another upset in the district, only this year an upset could be against any of the other 3 teams rather than just the Royals.

I'm confused Woodstock: you seem to argue they're not very good in the 1st thread and that they're great in the second. You need to let a few people post in between to provide cover for the contradiction.

Just trying to get this thread back on track. As far as Bracken Basketball, I comment on many threads about many issues and I wish Austin and company good luck in the coming season and I always defend any of the kids, especially Austin, when comments are negatively directed at any one player. In Jacob's case, I was just trying to head off any derogatory comments. BC will be pre-season 1 or 2 in the Region regardless.

Regardless, thus thread here as kind of turned into a G-Town camp review. Summer basketball is what is and I think "good, experienced" Coaches will tell you it's more of an overall evaluation and preview of his team's personnel, teamwork, attitudes, etc. but not much more. The most significant item mentioned here in relation to the BC season outlook is the loss of Jacob Hamilton. IMHO, this is huge for BC to deal with, especially in the early part of the season. Jacob was a very steady and talented player who impacted the game on both ends of the floor so figuring out who fills his roles will be key to their ultimate success. However, I support he and his family's decision not to play 100%. This young man is great on and off the court/track and he will be getting a college scholarship to run track/cross country at a very high level. I know this decision wasn't reached without a lot of thought and angst but it is absolutely the right decision for him and his family. I hope the BC faithful an accept that decision in the positive manner it was made and support this fine young man and his family accordingly.
