SnottieDrippen Posted July 28, 2016 Posted July 28, 2016 Roy's recent post got me thinking, has there been a fan base that fills up opponents' gyms the way Owen Co. did over the course of the 2015-16 season? Personally, I've never seen anything like it. Who can top them?

AndOneDad Posted July 28, 2016 Posted July 28, 2016 Augusta in good times and bad. I'll let you decide if we're loyal or just bored in our sleepy little town but we show up and who doesn't want to support the underdog
WKY Posted July 28, 2016 Posted July 28, 2016 Christian County and Hoptown only when they play each other haha
neilman1234 Posted July 28, 2016 Posted July 28, 2016 Speaking of: No town embraces their youth like Augusta. This community rallies around their basketball team. It's a cool thing to see.
SnottieDrippen Posted July 29, 2016 Author Posted July 29, 2016 Pendleton County in 2005 Augusta- all the time. This is the second one that came to mind. Really good team.
Polar bear2030 Posted July 29, 2016 Posted July 29, 2016 There were a lot of Bracken County fans who went to Mongonery County last year for the season opener. Also during the Ashland Invitational fans who were not related to any players came and stayed over night for all 3 days.
maysvilleky Posted July 29, 2016 Posted July 29, 2016 Mason County at Lexington Catholic in 2003 sold out the gym. The state fire marshall had to stop people from entering the building. And in 2008, they moved the game to Memorial Coliseum.
rgoodman2016 Posted July 30, 2016 Posted July 30, 2016 thanks to my Bluegrass State Basketball Friends. What a wonderful response. Its amazing how everyone loves basketball . Thanks for the info. I see Augusta is the trip to make in 2016-17? I was thinking of the Madison County Hoopfest ? thanks everyone. I hope to hear from several of you .
Racer89 Posted July 30, 2016 Posted July 30, 2016 A basketball trip to Kentucky for high school basketball would not be complete without going to the Marshall County Hoopfest that usually takes place in early December. It usually attracts some of the top prep teams from across the country.
