Tony Wise resigns at Montgomery County

No doubt, also someone that will be a "yes sir" type person as well. Im sure they are looking for a puppet that does whatever they say. -
Tony Wise resigns at Montgomery County

What is crazy about that statement is that it was the same adminstration (AD, Super) that picked Tony after they decided to go in a new direction once Griesser left. Would be nice if MC would decide which direction they are going to go. A LOT of people in the community are outraged with they way things are being handled over in Mt. Sterling. -

A former coach I worked with once told me, "Even a rat knows when to jump from a sinking ship!" -

Couple of comments from several posts I have read. 1. Hundley would NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER come back to Montgomery. He knows how much of a train wreck Montgomery is turning in to. 2. The new adminstration will cause the athletic programs at Montgomery to suffer greatly. No teacher/coach is safe and you never know when you could be the next one that is pushed out the door. Not an environment you want to work in. I think this will also keep kids from wanting to come out and play. Already hearing rumors of Prewitt transferring to Madison Central (I know its a rumor, but they are floating around). 3. The post in which "Happy" was italicized, I hear ya. I have heard the same thing that Happy Osborne might be a possible candidate to fill the job as he is headed back to KY. Dont know if Happy would play "puppet" like the new adminstration wants. 4. I think MC is going to loose a lot of support from the community along with a lot of money with they way they are handling themselves. 5. I really hate this for the kids and it is not fair for them to have to go through with this. 6. Where might Wise's next move be? -
Talked to a friend of mine stated that Wise has resigned at Montgomery County. Apparently they want to go in yet ANOTHER direction, not many more directions to go. Wise is not the first quality coach the Montgomery has run off and it probably wont be the last. Best of luck to Coach Wise and all future endeavours.

I think a lot of people are in the unclear of what coach we are talking about???????
-
The Bath job is open, but who will fill it I have not heard.
-
True, coaches usually wont resign from their position until after the state tournament because the state tournament trip is part of their stipend and they dont want to lose that free trip!
-
Now that the state tournament is upon us and the rumors have started to swirl, what are some jobs that ARE open. Lets try to make sure that these are valid statements. Silly rumors that are read can cause more damage than needed.

Montgomery County baseball
Touch The Line replied to allstarwinners's topic in KY Baseball (High School)
They had a very young team last year with a few seniors in the mix. Trying to think off the top of my head they bring back @ least 6 starters which include the just about the entire infield led by Blake Thomas. I think they will start out flying under the radar but will slowly creep up on teams. I feel that pitching will be the biggest problem as with most high school teams. -
Woke up this morning and saw that the young man from Bullitt East make ESPN's #1 play for his last second 3 at the buzzer to defeat PRP in the 6th region championship. Cool stuff.

Mason County 62 Montgomery County 57
Touch The Line replied to bigblueinsanity's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
That wasn't a bad 15-15, that was a young team with very little experience playing a tough schedule. That 47-43 record was compiled with teams that were not rated in the top 10 in the tenth region and that record could have easily been 20-70 or worse. They over-achieved in those 3 years mentioned. This was the year where they actually had experience and talent coming back. I just think the hopes were a little too high in Mt. Sterling -

Prewitt was consistant all year long, just could never get a #2 guy to go along with him. -
Woodford County/Scott County Predictions
Touch The Line replied to PurplePride92's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
The thing I think Woodford has going for them is that they have already lost to Scott Co twice, 3rd time is the toughest. Scott Co has yet to see Woodfords best effort. Heres to hoping Scott Co comes in over-confident and allows Woodford to jump on them early. The key is Woodfords ability to handle pressure. Woodford by 9. -

Surprised by the behavior, no. Disappointing, yes very much so. Makes you wonder what he is teaching his kids. Had they won Im sure he would have been out there waiting on them to announce his name. -

Great season by Coach Key, great run and the Juggs made the city of Erlanger/Elsmere proud! -

Coach Lutz, he is a good guy, been very dedicated to that program for a VERY long time. -
Lloyd Memorial 42 Highlands 39

Very glad someone brought that up, I was thinking the same thing. Another play that was very interesting was the play where Lloyd had the ball under their goal with about 12 seconds left up 4. They ran a set and a player slipped to the rim wide open, rather than take the layup he held it and got fouled. One and one he misses the front end, Highlands goes down and scores, Lloyd up 2 with 4 seconds left (or so). Rather than Lloyd up 4 or even 6 (its a big difference when you have to take the ball out of bounds on a made goal), they are only up 2. Could have been a huge play, but it all worked out for Lloyd. -
Boone County v. Lloyd Memorial Predictions
Touch The Line replied to Bpiccolo's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
Hope Lloyd wins, but I think Boone pulls this one off. Boone may not be as athletic, but they play smart, sound, fundamental ball. Bray will have to have a career game and stay out of foul trouble. I think Boone will try to put it inside and get Bray in foul trouble. If Lloyd is able to knock down a lot of 3's they will be in this game, but if they shoot like they did against Highlands, it might be a long night for the Juggs.
