Eric Deters says Simon Coach Trent Steiner should be out...

Quote from Deters:

"I love the Pioneers. But come on, when will they wake up (Kenton County Schools) and make head football and head basketball coach changes. I can speak out now because I no longer have children there.

The stories I can share. Last night, the boys were up 43-24 going into fourth quarter and lost. That’s coaching. They should have won the 8th Region. Now? 5th straight year out in the first round.

Trent Steiner and his program is not player/parent friendly."

Deters needs to do his job and quit being so critical of Coach Steiner and Coach Marksberry. He sounds like nothing more than a disgruntled parent!

Disguntled parent? Just a week ago there was a thread abouut coach of the year and his name was brought up, he loses a game and he should be out???????

Up 19 going into the fourth and they lose we blame it on the coach, but I have a hard time believing that Stiener told his kids to play NO defense, turn the ball over, make stupid mistakes, etc etc. He is not out on the floor making those mistakes, players are. Again, he probably could/should had made some changes, but IMO I couldnt put all the blame on the coach.

Trent Steiner and his program is not player/parent friendly. The best group of athletes in the history of the school was in my son’s class. Summit View and Twenhofel basketball and football players coming together to play. By the end of the freshman year, half of the starters from the two feeder schools quit. By senior year, ONE player remained. Why? Trent Steiner. Talent did not want to play for him.

Football? Miles Simpson and Chad Laurence led teams and won despite the coaching. Coaching cost them a state championship Miles’ senior year and a state semi-finals appearance at least, Chad’s senior year.

Guess what both of these coaches do? They beat down players. They don’t lift up players. They beat them down. They do not inspire. Simon Kenton had talent this year. Just not the talent the three prior years. What happened?

Players do not go to Simon Kenton because of these two coaches. There is a race issue too. Yes. I said it.

There have been black basketball and football players who have been shafted big time.

I can and will defend these remarks.

I’ll do the Pioneer community a favor since my children aren’t there anymore. I’ll beat the drums for change!

They kill spirit. They kill alumni participation. They do not build programs.

It’s time for wholesale changes in the boy’s basketball and football programs. They have already blown an incredible opportunity.

I plan on providing detailed facts and stories to follow.

Does anyone know Deters email address? I can dig up the CovCath parent email from last year. All Deters will need to do is change a few names and hit send. Worked at CovCath.

Wow...I saw that yesterday on his FB page.

He has too much time on his hands now that he is suspended from practicing.

Yep and maybe SK can get coaches from Nationally ranked programs like CovCath. All it takes is connections. Im sure Deters has a few.

Who happens to have a son who's a stud player.

I loved the comment that the coaching lost Simon a state championship in football! Well heck, I did not even think they had a shot to get there to begin with, were they not the #6 seed that year?

I'm guessing Coach Steiner won't be having lunch at Bulldogs anytime soon.

He doesn't have one for the next two months. :sssh:

But I agree with you!

Well If Deters says it, it must be true. Heaven knows, he doesn't just spout off to hear himself ramble, :D

Pretty sure he's talking about the year they lost a shoot out to St. X at St. X but I could be wrong. If he wanted to blame any one though he's pointing the fingure in the wrong direction.
