How big of an upset is this, really? Woodford County has been a team on the rise since Johnson's return.

It's an upset. Big upset. I don't think any or many of us here in CKY thought Woodford would win this game even though they have been on the rise. Their loss to Franklin County last week raised some eyebrows as well.

An upset yes. However I am not suprised. I thought they could play deep into the regional. Franklin is solid, they did beat J-Town earlier this season.

This was a tremendous game. Woodford took control early and executed very well. Congratulations to them and their staff.

I took this one in and it is the first time I have seen Johnson look like his old self since returning from the injury.

 

Congratulations to Coach Hundley and the Yellowjackets on a second huge regional win. I overheard one Woodford fan say that the team acted like they were supposed to win the game and how Hundley has changed the mindset in Versailles.

 

Greenwell had a big second half and finished with 17.

 

But it was definitely a team effort. The guards handled the Madison Central pressure quite well and none of that will show up on the stat sheet.

Called Woodford County my dark horse team all year. They are legit.

 

My question- if Woodford were to beat Scott County, and win a game or two at Rupp, does Jay Johnson get consideration for Mr. Basketball, despite missing about half the season? He is the best player in the state IMO.

He should. Had he not been injured he'd easily be the front runner for Mr. Basketball.
