Not to be a bad sport but I tried to tell ya...maybe the coaching staff should consult Gold Sunrise for some lessons on humility. Feel bad for the kids who put their hearts into it.

If Coach Kirk is re-applying then it sounds like the administration needs to make a decision on which direction they want to take the program... Obviously, they could rehire Coach Kirk who is very well thought of in Versailles and has been with the program for a long time. However, he is probably not going to be able to give the long term commitment to the program. On the other hand, the administration could go with a younger coach that would add a breathe of fresh air to the program who would be willing to put more time and energy into bringing a different look to the team. Woodford County is a conservative community and doesn't always welcome change. In this case, I think change would be a good thing.

Just heard Woodford County is opening up their head coaching position. Coach Kirk took the realm this year as an interim and apparently is stepping down. Who might be some applicants?

I'm at a loss...I guess here in Central KY we don't see those teams as much. Newport must have some serious athletes too in order to beat Holmes.

I think the Cardinals will have a fire lit under them this year after last seasons upset. I like Lafayette and have been really impressed with them all season. Coach Coldiron has got that school going in the right direction. Be careful if Walker gets going for Lafayette b/c he could be a game changer! Scott County just has too much so I still like the Cardinals in an up-tempo game. Scott County 76 Lafayette 72

I was extremely impressed with Scott's defense this season. They are obviously well coached and have earned the respect of Clark County. Good Season Scott!

Beating Scott County any year in the first round of the district takes not only talent but one heck of a coach! Stop bashing Kinmon b/c you have some personal grudge...he did a great job and has earned the respect of the Grant County community.

Proud of this Montgomery County team...they were written off by most fans and spectators of the 10th region. Advancing to the final 8 is something to be proud of! This senior group is something special...they gave everything and expected nothing. What good leadership and role models for the following classes of players...Basketball will be good at Montgomery for years to come! Thanks again Seniors!

Regardless of whether Coly wants the job or not there is definitely a problem at Dunbar. No insight needed to determine that out of 2,112 students that attend the school that they can't do better then a 3-22 record. I know they have a tough district and a tough region but...WOW!

Not gonna disagree with that point...he has some intangibles that don't show up in the box score. :thumb:

Pike Central open again?! Wow, they shouldn't have gotten rid of the good coaching staff from last year. When parents can intimidate the principal into firing a coaching staff it might not be the coaching staff as the problem.

With this game being on a neutral site and Ferrell coming back it should be a good game. I'm looking forward to this game more than any other in the first round...don't mind paying to watch this game! :banana:

Very good player! Must have gotten the award for what he meant to his team. Other players may have been more talented but after watching him his team went as he went. Team def. over achieved this year. Congrats to Vance! Well deserved.

Typically you schedule for the type of team you plan on having the next year. If he knew he was gonna have a down year he should have scheduled smaller schools outside of the city schools. Haven't seen the schedule but if he did that and still lost that wouldn't reflect well.

Just the rumor going around. Could be just what it is...a rumor, with no truth. This is why I was asking.
