  1. With half of the season in the books and Lafayette having just beaten Lexington Catholic, I wanted to see what everyone thought about the 11th region. Tier 1: Madison Central and Scott County Tier 2: Lexington Catholic and possibly Henry Clay Tier 3: Lexington Christian, Franklin County, Woodford County (Could move up with Johnson), Dunbar, Lafayette, Bryan Station (w/ Beckham), and Tates Creek. Your thoughts?
  2. Agree the timeouts hurt WC in the final minute. Congrats to Ashland for a good comeback. Stat lines: WC shot 69% from the field, hit 11 threes, and only shot 5 fts to Ashlands 32. Seemed like 8 on 5 tonight against the Yellow Jackets. Best game of the year out of Woodford, sad they came up short. I would suspect Coach Hundley will learn not to leave the BBA officials in the future.
  3. I believe it is now a 3 game suspension and $150 fine to be reinstated.
  4. I feel sorry for the 12th region if Scott Bottoms is the best they have. You all can keep him. I'm done with him and moving on. I haven't seen the other teams in the 12th but I do like Southwestern...do believe they will have a tough time scoring at times but they are as long and tough as I have seen all year.
  5. Saw quite possibly the worst officiated game I have ever seen tonight. Woodford County had a 6 point lead on Southwestern and the grey headed official (not sure I know the name) gave the WC coach a technical for saying, "The fouls are 5-0." He then said to the coach, "You insinuated that I was cheating." Turned the entire game around. 4 FTS b/c of a shooting foul, scored on the possession, then they were in the bonus b/c of the foul and the technical. Give Southwestern credit they never gave the game back to Woodford but I've never seen such "Power hungry" referees in my life. Same referee, during a timeout, turned to the referee crew behind him and gave a thumbs up...not only power hungry, but unprofessional. I will never come to another game in the 12th after this year. No accountability for the referees. With all that said, I look for Southwestern to win the 12th this year. Coach Wright inherited a nice group of players. Good luck to them the rest of the way.
  6. I would say South Oldham will throw their name in the hat at some point.
  7. The next time these two teams play will be after the expected return date of Johnson. Not sure it will be that interesting.
  8. Anybody have an idea when BS plays their scrimmages? I know they're at Sheldon Clark in Eastern KY but do they have another one? Also, is Beckham back?
  9. Heard from someone close to the program that this is the tournament Jay Johnson is trying to come back for. Should make for some interesting ball!
  10. See a few issues with this list. Not sure Henry Clay could beat any of the teams on this list YET (they have the young talent, but haven't earned this ranking yet). Montgomery County has some talented players but I just don't see them on this list due to depth. Might put Dixie a little higher because of experience but drop Madison Central a little bit due to the loss of their post player. Just my opinions...
  11. Totally agree with Timmons, the kid is a stud. Reminds me of kid from Christian County last year (maybe not all the skills...but fully capable). Would add another name to the conversation, David Greenwell of Woodford County. Oftentimes gets overshadowed with Jay Johnson of Woodford but he is one heck of a player, won the head to head against Garrett Hamilton of Franklin County in the district finals last season.
  12. I believe he was playing on the JV team this summer to get aquainted to the new system and decided that wasn't the best use of his time and quit. Not sure he will help the Indians anyway.
  13. Missing his senior season in high school has to be very disappointing for him but he has a bright future ahead of him so it's more important that he just gets that knee right. Would be interesting to see how he is around January or February when things start heating up for districts and regionals. Best wishes for a speedy recovery.
  14. Totally agree...Probably the single handed toughest player to keep in front in the 11th region.
  15. If I were Ligon I wouldn't even come close to Fayette county after the way they did him at Bryan Station. Can't believe the superintendant didn't step in on that one (coach of the year and they fire him, that's a joke). Best of luck to whoever comes in, they will have a great player in Davis. He needs a leader to teach him more of the game than just scoring baskets.
  16. Fayette County has decided that they are not committed to bringing in the best coaches for their programs. Enough said Fayette County, we get it, sports are not a priority.
  17. Not sure I believe this. Most high schools don't operate like colleges and contact applicants if they haven't shown interest already. Does he have a teaching degree? Also, not typical for head coach to be a paraproffesional (although not impossible). Schools typically want the head coach to be in the school so they can oversee their players. With that said, AW knows his stuff. I hear he is putting on an elite camp at the KBA.
  18. If I guess it will you tell me? A.W. Hamilton
