Woodford County 91 Frankfort 76

Featured Replies

The Yellowjackets were led by Rodney Gross who poured in 36 points today. Gross was 11 of 14 from the field and 14 of 17 from the free throw line, pulled down eight rebounds, and dished out five assists. Dave Greenwell added 26 points, 11 rebounds, and five assists. Jalen Oliver led Frankfort with 27 points.

Congrats to Woodford. Cross and Greenwell will continue to develop with Johnson out.

I was also impressed with the fact that Gross had only one turnover in 30:16 minutes of playing time. While Jay Johnson will be greatly missed Coach Hundley will develop other players and hopefully Johnson will return strong.

Frankfort looked pretty good most of the game. With around five minutes or so left in the game Frankfort took a 66-64 lead. Oliver, Perry, and Floyd all shot the ball pretty well. The 2-3 let them down late in the 4th quarter. Woodford went high low with Gross on the baseline and for some reason Frankfort had all 3 guys on the back end of the zone way up in the lane and it was an easy dump to gross for a lay up or a foul and two shots. I think Frankfort can compete with Woodford and Franklin for the district this year, they definetly have the athletes to do so all they really lack is some significant size. As for Woodford, Greenwell made some really nice plays when he needed to. He has developed into a really good player. I was expecting a lot more from Hollin and Young for the Jackets but they never seemed to really get into the flow of the game. Stratcher has gained some weight and seems a lot more polished especially on the ball handling side. Should be interesting the next time these two teams play.

The next time these two teams play will be after the expected return date of Johnson. Not sure it will be that interesting.

Without trying to bash any teams here, with Franklin losing to Woodford by almost 30 without Johnson and also losing to Paris, don't like the odds!

When did 15 become almost 30? They led in the 4th quarter.

Exccuse me for not being exact, but the final score was almost a 30 point difference, 25 to be exact. My apologies.

91-76 is not a 30 point difference? Especially when FHS led in the 4th.

I will say that I think Frankfort is one of the top 3 teams in that district.

Did you attend the game? If so you would have realized under two mintes to play FHS was down 7.

91-76 Is a 15 point difference. Your math is way off touchtheline.
