Ashland 93 Woodford County 82 (OT)

Featured Replies

Final from the AIT.

Woodford called their final timeout with a minute remaining in the game, up five points. This game back to bite them, as they turned the ball over in their final possession of regulation with a chance to win it. Overall fun, fast-paced game to watch. Woodford County will be a very good team once Jay Johnson returns to their lineup. He warmed up, but had a noticable limp. He certainly didnt look like he'd be ready to play in three weeks.

Corey Gregg is a warrior. He finished with around 30 points, and he simply has a motor that won't quit. Vargas? for Woodford County is a very good shooter.

Sounds like Johnson may be rushing it if he was limping in warmups but expected to play as early as Jan 6th.

Corey Gregg is a freak and I mean that in a postive way...the kid plays at a different level than most HS kids.

Agreed on both points. Johnson was dunking easily in warmups, but was jogging (if you can even call it that) with an awful limp.

Gregg just flat out produces. He is a joy to watch. As a Pendleton County fan, I can't help but wonder what kind of team they would have this year if he had stayed there.

Someone close to the team told me he will return to the lineup on January 13th.

Agree the timeouts hurt WC in the final minute. Congrats to Ashland for a good comeback. Stat lines: WC shot 69% from the field, hit 11 threes, and only shot 5 fts to Ashlands 32. Seemed like 8 on 5 tonight against the Yellow Jackets. Best game of the year out of Woodford, sad they came up short. I would suspect Coach Hundley will learn not to leave the BBA officials in the future.

I hope he finishes the year strong. I just hate to see anybody go through an ACL tear and then come back too early.

Eli Boggess is the name of the kid that is a very good shooter, on a team full of good shooters for Woodford County. I could have sworn they were announcing him as Eloy Vargas though.
