Dayton has a nice team, gave NCC a good game. Game was closer than the final score. -
Newport Central Catholic 48 Conner 42

Decent game, NewCath was ahead by 10 most of the time but didn't really put Conner away. Conner very deliberate on offense. They took a minute off the clock every time down. Even with 1:30 to play and down 8 they didn't seem to be too concerned with scoring quickly. -
Is there "Home Court Advantage"?

I can't imagine not being better at a gym that you practice on all the time, it's pretty much common sense. -
They don't have another Jake Smith coming up, and they won't be as heavy, but should be more athletic on the line this year.

They also lost to NCC and convincingly to Holmes twice where NCC and Boone gave Holmes a good game. It really doens't matter what your rated however, it only matters what happens starting next week. -

Now that everyone has break-away rims, pregame dunking should be allowed at all times. If the pros are not breaking backboards, I doubt if a high school kid can do it. Pittman's dunk was way after the whistle and would have been called a technical normally. Not sure why it wasn't called, but it's OK with me. -

Started off in man to man and got down 18-4. Played zone the rest of the game. -

NCC had them right where they wanted them but a no call on a Pittman goal tend and the last 2 fouls on Giesler were weak. Fun game to watch. -
Highlands challenging Mitchell ruling

I didn't think your record mattered that much as long as you won a state championship. I would think they would be happy that that wasn't taken from them. -
Beechwood cancelled their game with NewCath tonight (Sat), there must be alot more snow in Ft. Mitchell.

Was SV still pressing in the 4th quarter? I saw them in the All A still pressing up 25 late in one of the games. -
The only fair way is to eliminate the district play all together and play one big Regional Tournament. Seed the top 4 teams and go from there. Maybe the winner of each district during the regular season games could determine the seeds. Don't you get tired of playing the same teams every year. There are some teams that will never have a chance at playing at NKU with the current system.

DSAS 16s switch to Shining Star

I don't think all those players are playing on the same team. Pike, Pawset, Gilbert and Shutte played with SS last year. With T. Brown, Giesler, the King twins and Smith, they'll be too many for one team. -

Didn't Treven Brown play much, why only 2 points? When he plays he's been their leading scorer. -

Two hands to the chest prevents the offensive player from doing so. -

Thanks for proving my point, when did being big start being a disadvantage. Both on that play and when Foster charged into him were both fouls that get called if anyone else besides a big is involved. A foul is a foul period. -

Clearly not a foul:confused: Hated to see such a big game played and refereed so porely. NCC 0-20 from 3. I've got an idea, after your 0-10 "stop shooting them!" -
Newport Central Catholic's Coach Schneider retires

44 years, WOW! that's putting up with alot of teenagers over the years. That's over 4500 practices and 11,000 hours on that lumpy old field up on the hill. Now that's dedication. Congratulations coach, they'll never be another one like you. Thanks for all you've given to northern KY football. -

Did Mikey Gabbard get in foul trouble or get hurt, why only 3 points? It's OK in a win but certainly not in a loss. He's too talented of a player. -
Maybe Jake Cain's younger brother who will be a sophomore, but probably not Jake, he's too good of a linebacker.

NewCath needs to get more players to come out for the team, especially sophomores. With only 2 JV games the last 2 years some sophomores have taken a year off and that hurts the program. lmagine if you played only a few JV basketball games how long a season it would be. In my opinion, it's not much different. Move some Freshmen up if need to but get those sophomore and some juniors ready for Varsity.
