What does Newport Central Catholic need to do to improve in 2010? What do they need to keep doing to be successful? Remember, please be constructive.

NewCath brings back a ton of Skill position talent. Hitchew, Kelly, Doyle, Daunt,Cain etc. The key for 2010 will be how they replenish the O and D lines.

 

If they can get solid o-line and D-line look out. It will be interesting to see if they keep Hitchew at QB or bring back Cain. I look for NewCath to return to the State finals next year.

NewCath needs to get more players to come out for the team, especially sophomores. With only 2 JV games the last 2 years some sophomores have taken a year off and that hurts the program. lmagine if you played only a few JV basketball games how long a season it would be. In my opinion, it's not much different. Move some Freshmen up if need to but get those sophomore and some juniors ready for Varsity.

Not enough numbers to field varsity and JV. With a roster of only 38 players, you don't want to risk injuries to a backup varsity player.

Any chance of getting Andy Miller out to QB? As a frosh, I thought he had great potential.

NewCath is going to have some very fine athletes coming back next yr and should make a deep run into the playoffs barring injuries. Hope Coach Schneider can return for his 60th yr. Go Breds 20n10

I sure hope they go in house for the new Coach. Coach Wagner would be my choice. If they decide to go outside, I think it could be a real detriment to the 2010 season. They have a very solid core of players coming back. If they go to a brand new staff and system, it could really set them back in 2010.
