  3. Bob retired. http://news.cincinnati.com/article/AB/20100115/SPT0302/301150003/Winningest+KY+coach+call+it+quits
  4. At the football awards banquet this past Sunday evening Coach Dave Schneider read a letter from Bob that said that he will make a decision when he meets with his doctor on January 8th. Dave did say that Bob is recovering from open heart surgery very, very well.
  5. Analogue TV sets, portable compact disk players, 401k’s and common sense.
  6. Herb Brooks, 1980 USA Hockey team coach “You guys get worse and worse everyday and now you are playing like the middle of next week”

  8. I was told that some type of announcement about the status of Coach Schneider will be made at the football banquet on December 27th. I don’t believe Dave Schneider can be a head coach because he doesn’t have a teaching certificate. Wagner, Eviston and another member of NewCath’s faculty are viable candidates. Whoever would be the next head coach (if coach Schneider does retire) will be from the “inside”. NewCath has a lot more coming back than just Hightchew and Kelly. They only graduate 8 Seniors and only 5 of them had significant playing time. They may come into next year as the favorite in AA.
  9. Just a little age comparison Coach Schneider and Dick Lebeau are the same age Joe Paterno is 9 years older and Bobby Bowden is 7 years older.
  10. DeSales has been ranked ahead of Newcath in every poll all year long, plus Newcath is on the road.
  11. So a good time for him to have left was right before they went on a 4 year state finial run? The man has earned the right to leave at any time he wants. I’m sure if he looked in his crystal ball in January and knew he was going to have blood clots and a heart aneurysm in October he might have changed his mind about coaching this year.
  12. Read the article, he hasn't been on the sidelines since halftime of the Lloyd game and hes not going to be on the sidelines the rest of the year.
  13. NCC started out weak....but will finish VERY strong.
  14. If you’re against casinos because of morality, well you might as well be against everything associated with risk like the stock market or starting a business etc., life is a gamble. Also this state has been built on Bourbon and gambling, not necessarily in that order. You can’t charge $500 million for a gaming license and 40% tax anymore because the market is saturated. If Ohio or KY would have been one of the first to start casino style gambling, then they could have charged more but now we are surrounded by casinos. Also the more over-head a company has the more they would charge for food, drink, entertainment. Also the slots would be “tighter” the table minimums would be higher and that is when you start having the social problems that come with gambling. Greed is what causes the social ills, be it by the State, the casino operator, or the players. I want casinos, not for the money it would bring to the state (can they really be trusted to put it to good use?), but because that is what I enjoy to do with my entertainment dollar. Going to a casino, more specifically a Las Vegas style casino is a very good time, better if you win, but still enjoyable.
  15. That's okay.....NCC will be climbing up the ladder really soon.
  16. Altar boys???? That's funny. It will be funnier to watch them "serve" the Wildcats.
  17. Breds will struggle but will pull it off in the end. It will be a close one...that's for sure.
