Can someone please post the brackets as soon as they hear? They draw at noon today.

Just got word that Bellevue and Newport are on the Region play-in side of the brackets. Newport can go ahead and figure they are in the Region. Looks like the Breds will play Dayton in the first game and then Highlands if they win. Dayton has a very tough task to say the least.

And again, this is why Newport will never vote to seed.

I think Dayton's only shot was hoping to draw Bellevue in the play-in side. They won't go down without a fight, but I just don't think they have a real shot in this one.

 

NCC/Highlands will be interesting. Depends on which team shows up for both of them.

Speaking of dates, last year the 36th Championship game was on a Saturday night while the 33rd, 34th, & 35th was on a Friday night. I think they should all be played on the same night so the teams in the 36th don't have any other motives about the game than to just win. For example, if by some freak of nature Holmes in the 35th loses and ends up a runner-up, do you think that it might be worth it to a team from the 36th to throw their game to avoid playing the Bulldogs in the 1st round of the Regional? Just a thought. :idunno:

That's not to say they couldn't or wouldn't have beaten one or both this year, but not seeding benefits them in any year.

 

I expect Highlands to beat NCC in this year's district. Dayton will fight hard in the first round matchup and this should benefit the Birds a few nights later.

I do not think any respectable organization would participate in gamesmanship and posturing that results in anything less than 100% effort to win every game. Now if you will excuse me, I must take my leave to watch the undefeated Indianapolis Colts play the undefeated New Orleans Saints.

I believe it would be Dayton v Bellevue with the winner playing NewCath. It would be Newport Vs Highlands on the other side.

I was not aware that they didn't play each other. I guess since they don't seed there really is no need to play each district opponent in the regular season.
