Dogs jump out 18-4 after 1st qtr. NCC answers by outscoring the Dogs 21-8 in the 2nd as Meyer drills a 3 at the halftime buzzer. Halftime score was 26-25 Holmes.

NCC continued a nice run into the 3rd qtr jumping ahead by 5 at one point on a huge Pangallo 3ball. 38-33 was the score and the Dogs called a timeout.

At that point from the end of the 1st qtr the Breds were on a 34-15 run. Hot 3 point shooting by Schmidt/Pangallo/Meyer were the keys during this run.

NCC went up 41-35 on a Meyer 3 pointer but Pittman answered with an AND ONE. Schmidt picked up his 4th foul on this play.

NCC up 41-38 at end of 3rd and got the ball start the 4th.

Geisler got in foul trouble early in 4th and Holmes started to take over.

Breds score 2 points in 4th qtr....that was the difference. Holmes only scores 8 but enough to win the game.

Somebody help me understand this 4th quarter. What the heck happened? Did both teams take the air out of it?

The ninth region tournament becomes more intriguing on a weekly basis. :D

Thanks for an excellent description of the game. :thumb:

Best $5 I've spent all year. Great game as both teams go on 18-4 runs to start the game ending in 22-22 score in the middle of the 2nd. I could watch Ricardo guard Pangallo all day. What a matchup. By far my favorite in the 9th region. Geisler getting his 4th changed the game as he had to play soft. With 1.6 left NCC inbounds to Pangallo, he loses control of it and has to chase it down and that gave Pittman time to close out and end the game with a block. I thought the no call on the goal tending by Pittman was HUGE. Also, I thought a dunk after the whistle was a technical, but I guess Chappie thought it was cool to watch.

There is no rule that strictly forbids a kid from dunking after a whistle. Its really no different than a kid hoisting a long shot after the whistle.

Coach Brannen refuses to go to his bench again, loses another big game.

No problem. Walter was giving me play by play on the texts. He does a great job and must have some quick fingers.

Im sure he will give us the breakdown of what happened in the 4th.

Who is he going to go to? Lets be honest here. They seem to have 4 options and 4 options only. Geisler/Pangallo/Meyer/Schmidt (tonight)

That was Tyler Lampe who came off the bench to hit 4 three pointers.

Hold on. I may need to retract the above.

Im just sayin you have to go to your bench sometime in the game to give players rest, and you never know what can happen.

True story, I just wonder if Brannen trusts his bench.

I stand corrected. The same rule that bans dunks during the pre-game also ban dunks during a dead ball.
