Boyle has to be the early favorite to repeat. Be aware that 4A is by far the most competitive of the 6 classes. Franklin Co., Corbin, Paducah Tilghman, Johnson Cent., Highlands and Covington Cath. all are very good as well. These are 7 of the best football teams in the state regardless of class. Should be a fun season.

They moved to Boyle co. He has been enrolled since beginning of semester. Yes he plays football, good student in a top academic environment at Boyle. Can play multiple positions in football and good basketball player as well.

Boyle Middle beat West Middle last night 44-18 in conference championship. They play Rockcastle Middle at Boyle Saturday night at 7:00 at Boyle in State Middle playoffs.

Merrick is the real deal also, not only as QB, but a total football player. Shame that he got the ankle sprain. Boyle fans will enjoy watching him the next three years.

Boyle County uses their freshman kicker on the varsity, who by the way has not missed a kick so far this year. He doesn't kick for the freshman team.

Watched that Middle School team and it is loaded with talent and a lots of it. Next outstanding class and good numbers.

No disrespect to the Lakers, but this should be a game where the starters get to rest early and the younger kids get a taste of the varsity experience. This game comes at a good time after playing such a tough schedule. There are always bumps and nagging injuries that need time to heal at this point in the season. Want to be healthy for the Lincoln game next week.

Both teams trying to improve and get a much needed victory in a game each sees as winnable. A real toss up. Danville only playing one quality team, Lincoln and made a good showing. After losing 23 in a row this season has been a real shot in the arm for the Ads and their fans. Their weak schedule also makes them vulnerable in this game and for sure next week against LCA. Playing at home might be the difference for the Ads when two teams are so evenly matched. LCA is at another level than the other teams in this district that are all playing for 2nd place.

Meet with 10-12 former players, coaching buddies and just some fans rehashing Friday night results. Not all are Rebs or Ads so it gets a little salty, but mostly fun, food and coffee. Excuse me, sorry but I thought the coaching staff was part of the team. Boyle doubled up Highlands on yardage gained and won the game. Are you judging the teams on who looked better on paper? This is not a beauty contest or a look test. Results, not excuses only matter.

Boyle notified the refs what they were doing before the play. It was totally legal and as was mentioned earlier been used forever. Fans can't change the rules just because their team is not prepared. If Highlands had covered the receiver, Boyle would have called a timeout and then punted.

An ugly win is better than a loss anytime. LCA is a good team. Boyle didn't have their best game, but will learn much more from this game than a 40 pt blowout.

Both of these teams will be a nightmare for opposing teams to prepare for during the season and playoffs. Don't be misled by the score. Neither coach wanted to show anything on offense yet. Atherton has the best team in the history of the school. Boyle will be different on offense this year but hard to defend when they show their real game plans.

The kid is a top QB. Who better to play for than probably the best QB coach in the state, Justin Haddix? Boyle is loaded with great receivers to throw to. The kid said in the interview that he is a pass first then run QB. He does have great speed and run, escape ability. The kid and his parents have no loyalty or ties to FD. They are not going to be drawn to a situation just because a cousin went to school there. There is not a better place to be during his rehab than spending that time expanding his game under the watchful eye of coach Haddix. Time will tell but Boyle has been in the conversation for a reason.

Just going by hearsay that the kid is enrolled at BC now. Can play more than one position, not just a QB. That family has moved here already. He is a UK commit from what I hear. Hope it is true, but you never know until it's game time.

Way to early to make any valid predictions for the 12th region. One of the weakest regions in the state last year, could be a little stronger this year. Any team with the addition of one outstanding player or at the same time a loss of one can change the complexion of this region in a moment. The seven footer at DC is not in any way comparable to a seven footer like Moreno that was certainly a game changer. Many times two big guys in the same lineup can end up getting a coach fired rather than being a dominant force. Just look back at the history of high school basketball in the state and you will see what I mean. How far did it take DC this year against really good competition?
