Atherton's Scrimmage cut was short last week so not sure what they look like in pads.  Boyle was at Jabez so not sure many people have seen them in pads either.  Atherton has several great pieces but still have to prove they have a complete team.  This is the quietest I have heard the Boyle fanbase in a really long time.  Hopefully both teams get good work in tonight and get to prepare for week 1 of the football season.

0-0 halftime.  Both teams struggling to move the ball.  Atherton has some good db’s and boyle has struggled to run.  Boyle has picked off Atherton twice.

It's going to be hard to replace Montavin Quisenberry and Demauriah Brown! Boyle will be fine though.

Well we can say what we want.  The D is good but the O need help.  But Boyle doesn’t always show their hand at scrimmages.

They got a good defense. DBs are fast and physical.

Did Brown sign for college anywhere? I hadn't heard of him finding a landing spot.

I honestly thought with South Warren moving up, Highlands moving down & the talent Atherton had coming in, they were a serious contender in 5A.  My only concern is the mental side of it for them.  If you’re going to be a serious contender, you can’t do things like fight with Valley.  You have to be able to keep your head about you when things like that or any type of adversity hits because inevitably, at some point in a season, it will.

You took the words right our of my mouth. That's my one worry with Atherton. It's on the coaches to keep the kids in check when adversity hits.

Parity hits the prep ranks or just a scrimmage.  Either way, it sounds like Boyle may be coming back to the pack and Atherton is taking a step up.  

Atherton has some D1 talent on defense. 

Both of these teams will be a nightmare for opposing teams to prepare for during the season and playoffs. Don't be misled by the score. Neither coach wanted to show anything on offense yet. Atherton has the best team in the history of the school. Boyle will be different on offense this year but hard to defend when they show their real game plans.
