Calvary Christian Girls get their first ever win in the 10th Region All A Tournament. They will play Bracken County Monday night at 630. Calvary was led by Sarah Roaden with 26, Hayley Emmerich 16 and Dayne Merkly 9.

Absolutely crazy. Coach Coburn is very knowlegable about the game of basketball and did a tremendous job at St Henry. Riduculous that an AD would make this kind of decision.

Coach Coburn is one of the hardest working and most dedicated coaches in Kentucky. He did an oustanding job with the kids he had at St Henry. There must be some clueless parents in that Soph class, if this is true.

Not sure if it is considered Northern Kentucky, but I think Augusta's gym was built before 1950.

It is a tough job and I would not want to do it. I think a better question would be, have we seen better quality games from officials since they have gone to a 3 official crew? My answer would be no. Even in games where we dont have a dog in the fight, I still see a lot of inconsistencies. I see no difference from the 2 to the 3 man crews. Everyone is going to make mistakes, but I think all coaches ask is for the officials to be consistent.

I know Taylor Robinson was injured in the Walton game. Did she play in this game?

Your exactly right. I don't think too many teams in the 10th region have anyone who can guard Doram straight up. The key is to not let her catch the ball around the rim. The (HC) guards did struggle with full court pressure and they even had Doram bringing the ball up a couple of times. A charging call on her with under a minute left in the game and Calvary up by 1, waived off a basket and kept the momentum on Calvary's side. I am sure the HC guards will get better throughout the year, I think they only have 1 senior on their roster.

If it's a foul, it's a foul. If the kids get down, slide their feet and play defense, their shouldn't be a problem.

I wouldn't say shocking. Calvary returns everyone from last year. Down by 8 at the half, Calvary used full court pressure defense to turn the tide. Jordan Doram for Harrison County (rated 1st or 2nd in the region) is an outstanding player. She had 19 in the first half, not sure what she ended up with, but she played very well.

Calvary goes on the road and gets coach Ann Merkley's first career win.

Allie is only one of two players from the D-III conference named to the Enquirer All Star team last year, who is returning this season. She will be the key to thier season. She will also be a candidate to contend for player of the year in the conference.

I am pretty sure Troy Clifton is still there. He has been there for 3 or 4 years.

Yes, it is the Heritage in Florence. They claim they are going to be playing a varsity schedule this year. Last year, when they did not field a varsity team, they had 3 Seniors playing on the JV team. Dont be surprised if they back out again, just as the season starts.

Thats why they play the games. It will be interesting to see who can develop and compete with Brossart for the district title.

4th after Campbell, Brossart and Calvary. Calvary beat Scott at Scott last year when they had Stinson and Calvary returns everyone this year.

They will be the 4th best team in their district again this year. Stinson is going to be very hard to replace for points, rebounds and interior defense.
