You are 100% right. The girls are very fundamentally sound because of the coaching they have had for years. The parents that have worked with these girls in the off season for several years. Coach Miller is doing a great job with the kids he has, but he is also bennefiting from the work done by the AAU coaches these girls have had. Look for Walton to be one of the top teams in the region for at least the next 4 years.

Whats going on with the departures?

The wins over Conner and Holy cross are big. They are both supposed to be good teams in the 9th region. Although SK is on top until someone in the 8th beats them, I think everyone in the 8th region is going to have a tough time beating Walton. It looks like Walton will not have any problem winning the 8th region All A.

I dont think it will be that tough of a game for Mason. Although Tibbs is good, I dont think Scott has the athletes to match up if you go 8 or 9 deep.

Most schools in NKY are in the NKAC. The class A schools have to play each other twice (home and away). Then you throw in the disctrict games and there are only a handful of games that are discretionary to schedule.

Calvary will have to find some guys to pick up the scoring after their top two offensive players graduated. However, they will play tough defense.

There was a rumor over the summer that Dayton was getting a very good transfer, did that happen?

The schedule is a lot more difficult than last year. They have a great coach and I am sure they will be ready for the tournament, by the end of the season. Dont be suprised if they have a better team than last year, but the win loss record might not reflect that, because of the difficult schedule.

Kelsey can shoot, she just needs to build some confidence early. If they get the inside outside game working with the two of them, they could be tough to beat.

I would think Walton would have to be the favorite. If there guards mature and play well, they should be the team to beat.

Calvary used to draw a lot of kids from the east side of Cincinnati and some from Indiana as well. When construction is finished on the 4 lanes (improved Taylor Mill Road) in two years, access would be greatly improved.

They will be more spread, drive and dish. Rely on outside shooting or driving to the basket. Coach Stamm will find a way to win games.
