Call me a homer, but I'll take the Beechwood Tigers. Everyone will talk about what they've lost, but their JV hasn't lost a game in the conference in 2 seasons either. They've been picked to lose it the past two seasons, and have won 28 straight, until they're knocked off its theirs to lose.

Did not know there were divisions in basketball ?

The NKAC recognizes Divisions, from my experience it is mostly recognized by the Division III Schools (smaller schools) There is no trophy for winning but the small schools really pay attention to this record. The DIII schools are:

Beechwood

Bellevue

Dayton

Ludlow

Calvary Christian

Heritage

Silver Grove

Villa Madonna

...I think I got all of them. Anyhow, these teams all play each other twice during their seasons and track their conference records.

With all of that being said, I think with the record Shumate and the Tigers have the past two years you would have to think that they are the favorite. I think Villa and Dayton should have strong teams as well.

Who do you all think will win the POY? We know it won't be a Beechwood player because they don't seem to win awards in this division. I believe that Bryan is a large favorite, but Pohlgeers and Eastin are good players.

It is Bryans to lose this year, IMO.

I'll agree, he is the most important player on the floor each night, if he doesn't score then his team doesn't. Also it seems that the coaches like when players score a lot for this award.

Its beechwood's till somone knocks them off. I think Dayton will be that team they didn't lose nobody from a good team last year.I also think they have the best starting 5 in this divison. And a few that can come of the bench too.Looking for big things from this group.

Dayton should be real strong this year. They bring back some experience and some really scrappy players.

Any chance Calvary makes some noise?

As to the question, I still learn towards BW after seeing them this summer.

Its between Beechwood and Dayton. Villa has the best DIII player, but he can only do so much. Until some body can prove they are worthy of the challenge, I'll take the Tigers.

I'm pretty sure Calvary lost either 4 or 5 of their main 7. So unless they had an outstanding JV team, it's not looking likely.

I heard some good things about Dayton maybe they could be a wildcard to put in the mix this year.

From what I saw this summer, I think Calvary will be rebuilding this year.
