Basketball season for 2012-2013 should provide another exciting year. What should we expect from Deming (or is it Robertson County now)? Remember, please be constructive.

Lady Devils made a nice run at the end of the year, surprising a lot of people by winning the 38th District Tournament. They lose a lot of scoring from that squad & will likely have to lean heavily on sophomore guard Lacey Mitchell, who is a really nice player. Deming appears very young, according to the roster provided on the KHSAA--4 8th graders, 4 sophomores, & a lone senior. I could be wrong, but I don't anticipate them surprising Pendleton County & Harrison County this season.

Best of luck to Coach Mitchell & his team! :thumb:

I could be wrong, but I don't believe the name changes until next season.

I think Devilman stated that they would carry the Deming name for this season & it would change to Robertson County during 2013-14. Perhaps he can clarify that.

Your right. It'll different saying Robertson County Black Devils instead of Deming. Feeling is springtime is when the move will be made. Still Deming this season. Next Season will proably be a different name. FOR next season get ready for the R.C.B.D.

Along with L. Mitchell returning from last years squad is K. Smithers who came on at the end and in the tournament at the right time. What a breakout game she had in the tournamnet, also returning Samantha Woerner. The rest is gonna be young.

Gone are Lacy's sister Jessica and Kelsey Carmack. bulk of their scoring gone there. Madison Fryman just a 8th grader could see some playing time, as well as another 8th grader Aletha Thomas, they both saw time on the floor last season.

Maybe they still have some magic left from last season. Harrison and Pendleton are gonna be tough no doubt.

Are they in the new school and new gym yet?

No. Not likely. Next season. It'll be something when they do.

Perhaps, but I think both those squads have more coming back than Deming. We shall see.

^ You know that sounds familar one your last post, really I know they have their work cut out for them. But for now it'll be fun just watch and see what happens.

For those of you that want to type Robertson County School District and click on Facebook, has some pictures from start to present and some info.

Actually, K. Smithers (Senior) and L. Mitchell (Sophomore) are the only returning players from High school. M. Fryman and A.Thomas will see a lot of playtime. Both good players. Definitely going to be an interesting year as these girls try to pull it together! The great thing about it is even though the team is young they already have a year of play time together AND they won 38th District doing it! Go Lady Devils!! Who knows maybe one of the other sophomores will change their mind.
