Ludlows camp was originally started by Coach Aaron Stamm when he was the coach of the Panthers and it continues to be an excellent camp under the direction of Coach Wofford and his staff.

Any scores from the Ludlow camp tonight?

Camels beat Grant County

Walton beat Lloyd

Brossart was up 6 on Bellevue at the half when I left.

Any scores from the Ludlow camp tonight?

Don't know all the scores, but here's what I saw.

First HHS (because that's who I saw the most). First game they definitely looked like they were waiting for Schaffer and Daley to check into the game. Beat St Henry by 12 (i think), but were very hesitant to shoot and looked a little confused at times.

HHS second game they looked much better! They spread the court and shot the ball well. They beat Lloyd 50 something to 20 something. Hit maybe 8-10 3's and drove to the basket well. Lloyd has a very nice player in the Cheatum girl. Not sure what age she is, but I think she'll be a good one!

HHS lost 6 seniors. They are on a youth movement now. Top 9 consist of 1 senior, 4 juniors, 3 sophomores and 1 freshman for next season. Should be competitive this year, but back to pretty solid the year after.

St Henry had a lot of girls with them. They shuffled all of them in and out. They have a couple nice players and should be competitive this year. I really like their starting PG. Hard nose player with some skill and shoots pretty well.

Bellevue has a decent team also. They have a couple nice players in Kira Ross and Makayla Bishop (both sophomores next season). They continue to improve.

Grant Co also looked decent. Two standout players from what I saw, but they have some other girls with some skills that should contribute.

Brossart brought the younger group last night. Mostly fresh and sophomores from what I could tell. They have a nice group coming up with some very good size and skill. If they get good guard play in the future, they should reload after this year's group graduates.

Campbell Co looked similar to HHS. Looked like they were a little lost without the stars that graduated. However, like Brossart, they have a real nice group of young players coming up. If they all continue to play, CC should be pretty solid in the coming years.

That's all I saw. Most teams looked rusty and lost at times without their girls that graduated. It will take some time to learn to play without them. But that's what the summer is for!

Nice seeing you last night RCC, the pleasure is always mine. I agree with everything you said on here. The Cheatum girl is very athletic and Lloyd had a couple others athletic girls but Cheatum definitely stood out, looks young too. Big girl from Brossart (sophomore) is also a very nice player. She's strong and has a nice touch for a big girl. #15 PG for Walton is a stud. She went down with an ankle sprain but came back in to finish the game. She plays intense, in fact a couple Walton parents were telling her not to get hurt its only summer camp. Not much height from the teams that I saw. An occasional decent size girl but nothing like I saw last year. Looks like a lot of teams will be running with 4 and 5 guards the whole time.

:puke:

I deserved that. But the same would go with you LB when you bless me with your presence. Lol

Didn't see a lot of games, but will fill you in on what I saw or heard.

HHS played Walton in the first game and won 50 something to 20 something (i think). WV was without a couple players though. But HHS shot the lights out in that game.

HHS played Brossart in the second game. I think Brossart beat HHS by about 10. It was a very fun summer game to watch. Back and forth for 3 qtrs. BB pulled away in what would have probably been the beginning of the 4th. Futcher (sp) is going to be a force. Their shooting guard (sorry, can't remember the name) is also very good! She lit us up last season as well. HHS played well at times. Shot the ball okay, but needs to continue to learn how to score with all the new players.

Camp Co looked much more comfortable last night against Calvary. They are young and will only get better. They are in good hands with Gray at the point.

Didn't see the game, but heard Bellevue beat Grant Co. Pretty good win for the Tigers.

I believe the girl from Lloyd is Devin Cheatum. She is an incoming Freshman!

She will be a good one!!!

Bracken County is playing at the Transylvania camp this week. They are 4-2 through this morning--wins coming against Lexington Catholic, Edmonson County, Miami Valley (from Dayton, OH), & Thomas Nelson. Losses came against Floyd Central (Indiana) & a 1 point loss this morning to Leslie County. At least one more game today against Boyd County.

Summer is a time for the coaching staff to get all of their kids into the game and work on their weaknesses. I wouldn't put too much into who wins or loses these games because from my experience, it will be totally different when next season rolls around.

I have heard though that Elizabethtown is looking awefully good and should be one of the top two teams in their region. Wouldn't be surprised if they aren't the favorite to win the State Championship next year.
