  1. AGREED! Aren't you disqualified from Federal student loans if you have a drug conviction?
  2. NWO going OLD School on BGP! She's a GREAT talent!
  3. 1A. Duke 1Aa. Louisville 2. North Carolina 3. Tennessee 4. Florida 5. Syracuse
  4. True statement or opinion?? If that truly is an option, great for Pittman! Hopefully he takes full advantage!
  5. Agree totally with both! Someone from outside with no ties is imperative! A clean house is a very good thing!
  6. I agree with you that Coach McQueary is a good coach and understands the game, however, the AAU comment is painting with a broad stroke. Additionally, you probably are referring to AAU and meant to say "select". Regardless, I know alot of select teams/programs that emphasize defense and fundamentals.
  7. You're absolutely correct about Barker. He may even should have been included in my top 5.
  8. It's always tough every year to say what freshman teams will be good. It's an unknown because most of your good to great freshman will at sometime during the season playing up, especially at smaller schools. Dixie undoubtedly has the best freshman player, but he will be starting the 2 guard spot for the Varsity. Walton would have a great freshman team, but their 2 best players will be playing primarily varisty and some JV. Brossart has a good freshman class, but I expect because of their upperclassmen numbers, those better players will see JV and possibly varsity time. Campbell has 2 good freshman players, one already appears to be in a starting role for the JV the other I'm sure will see JV time at some point this year. It's this way every year. The better thread title might have been who are some of the freshman players to watch for this year. IMO, they are: 1. Brandon Hatton (Dixie) - All around STUD! He will be in the top 10, possibly top 5 in scoring in the NKY area. 2. Zach McNeil (Walton) - Another scoring guard starting varsity! 3. Jamonte Wilson (Holmes) - The little that I've seen of him could give Covington alot to cheer about over the next 4 years. 4. Nathan Verst (Brossart) - Another scoring guard who can fill up the bucket in bunches. 5. Brandon Hergott (HHS) - Wing player with size, athleticism and great touch. Ones to watch: Tanner Moeves (Walton) Mustafa Diaw (Boone), Nick True (HHS), Cory Holbrook (CCHS), Garrett Geiman (CCHS), Sam Dressman (CovCath), Nick Pope (CovCath), Jalen Beal (HC??), Jalen Avery (HC??), Seth Hope (HHS)
  9. Last year he played for the 7th grade NKY Knights coached by Moeves
  10. Hopefully, it's not season ending. Does LexCath have a middle school or junior high?
  11. I think the nod goes to Derek Smith. He only played baseball his freshman year and that could've been his best sport. Straight up stud football and basketball star! Didn't he earn 1st team ALL-SEC as a soph??? David Justice is the close 2nd. I mean c'mon Halle Berry has to be worth something!
  12. You can't serve two masters! Go Cats!
  13. This year will be tough. Scott should win the district and I give the edge to CC to make it to the region this year, however, you never count out a Code coached team. The next 3 years should find the regional representation for the district in Alexandria solely.
  14. According to those who know, It's being played at CCMS this year. I'm unsure of future years. I've also been told (hearsay) that the Alexandria Business Community isn't involved in this game anymore. Maybe you know the answer to that one Mustang. To have that game at either high school site, could create a setting where fans might get turned away for the game. This year's game as well as the next few will start to get very exciting with the emergence of the sophomore studs for both teams. McGovney and Saunders, former grade school AAU teammates, should be the go to guys for their squads. I think McGovney has the upper hand because he has a more complete game, but Saunders can score in bunches. McGovney's coaching staff will run an offense more suited to his style. When those are two are Junior and Seniors, we could be watching 2 of the top 5 players in the NKY area battling it out in Alexandria in the Crosstown Showdown. Regardless of who wins this game, A majority of CCHS' season depends upon how well McGovney, and his coaching staff, will handle the defensive strategies from other squads AND how well his supporting cast can assist in adding points to the scoreboard. Go Camels!
  15. Always at CCMS. They trade off as the home team. nkufan 88: Jordan Racke wasn't on the A team, he was maybe the 3 or 4th best player on the B team. He's not a part of the squad, his height just isn't there.
  16. That is not correct. December 11, 2010 at CCMS.
  17. Jesus is compassionate. He loves everyone. He sees past our inabilities, our shortcomings and our failures. He accepts us where we are. It's up to us to accept Him! He loves the homosexual (practicing or not), He loves the abortionist while they are laying on the table, He loves all sinners. The choice isn't His to love us, it's ours to accept His love! When we accept HIM, we want to be like HIM!
  18. I didn't see it last year, but one year does change alot for most kids. I think their biggest struggle will be the outside shot, unless improvements have been made there as well. Curious, who is on the staff this year with Coach L?
  19. Great game by both squads! It was one of 3 exciting freshman football games I've seen played this year. As stated before, the HHS punt play by Plau (sp?) was a GREAT play! A little off on my predicition, but that would've been a boring game! A couple of observations..... CCH stormed out and hushed the HHS blue fans and ignited the CCH fan base. I think listening to the comments in the stands during the 1st half was about as good as watching the game. Nick Pope and Dressman are players, no doubt! The Hayes, Harris and Wrobleski backfield is going to give teams fits. Most teams are lucky to have 1 good running back. Ft. Thomas sports 3 GREAT running backs!
  20. HHS 52 Cov Cath 22 I also predict there will be a lot of blue in the stands!
  21. I have 2 sons that played football starting at the age of 5. One graduated HS last year and while he didn't want to continue to play in college (he had opportunities), he misses the high school team. My youngest son just finished his freshman year.
  22. His older brother definitely went. I'm assuming the younger did as well.
  23. I think Saturday will tell if I exaggerated. If I did, I'll be on here Sunday and say so. If I didn't, I won't even mention it.
  24. You are the "Voice of Reason". You nailed it! Can I have one of those Stella's???
