NKY Frosh Championship

Featured Replies

Game is currently scheduled for THU, OCT 28th.

*Who are the contenders?

- HHS is 7-0 with remaining games against Ryle and NCC

- CovCath is 6-1 with remaining games against ? and ?

- Who else are the undefeated or 1 loss teams? Simon Kenton? Campbell County?

*How are ties settled if there are multiple teams with 1 loss?

*If HHS makes the Championship game, how will the "powers that be" resolve the scheduling conflict with the Ryle v. HHS Varsity game being played at Ryle that same THU night on FoxSports Ohio?

Get it moved to Saturday. I come back from my trip on the 29th.

CovCath has games remaining with Boone County and Simon Kenton, if I am not mistaken, but at the moment I don't know the dates or times of the games!

Campbell Co has Boone (tonight), Cooper and Conner left. I hear, not sure if it is accurate, that CC and CCH have the next best records and if they each finish with 1 loss, they do not play each other, then a coin flip will determine who will play HHS (if HHS takes care of their business).

I have heard the same, that if CC and CCH win out then a coin flip will determine who plays HHS in the championship game.

do they just take the top 2 teams? In the smaller division they top 4 and have 1 playoff game.
Over the past few years (at least) there's just been one title game for the larger schools, and no semi-final playoff games.

Actually last year the large school freshman had two divisions (East and West) and had a four team playoff (#1 East vs. #2 West and vice versa) with winners playing in the championship game following week. Highland and CovCath finished 1 and 2 respectively in the East division and both won their first round games to meet in the championship game (won by Highlands).

Wow... I didn't realize that! Who did Highlands play in the first-round playoff game?

... nevermind... I see where they played SK in the semis. Must have forgotten...

Does anyone have the breakdown of divisions? East - West? Small School - Large School?

Scott is 5-1 but I'm not sure which division they play in this year. Last year we were in the Small School Division, probably the same this year.

Great questions....Must be a "secret" formula, because nobody seems to know. Have been talking with people, past and present football parents, and nobody has the answer.

I think Beechwood, Lloyd, Scott, NCC, Newport, Holmes, Holy Cross are in the small school division. top 4 teams make playoffs. first round 10/21, championship 10/28. Right now I think Scott is 1 seed, NCC is 2 seed, Beech is 3 seed. I don't know who 4 seed

Interesting. NCC is on the HHS schedule for 10.21 at HHS. What happens if they are playing in the small school playoffs?

Also, any further insight into what might happen to the scheduled "large school" championship on 10.28 if HHS makes it given that the varsity plays Ryle on FoxSports Ohio that same evening.?

That would be a shame because CCH deserves a 2nd shot at HHS. Campbell squeaked by some really bead teams that CovCath has or will pummel.

I would like to see CCH put it altogether in a HHS rematch.

It doesn't matter if they squeaked by alot. a win is a win
