Freshman hoops in NKY

Who will have the best teams and why? I know Highlands will field a very athletic and big team. They should be led by Hergott, the Butens, Houliston and Hope. If Schweitzer joins them after football it will create even more girth in the lane.

The Bluebirds will be very well coached as well:thumb:

The Camels will have a solid squad with former Camel Kevin Rinehart coaching. Many of the NKY Knights AAU team are Camels (Geiman, Wood, Holbrook).

Duhhh..I don't know what I was thinking..

From what I understand, Schweitzer will join the team after football. Additionally, Zach Harris will look to join the team after football. Highlands also picked up Ryan Green from St. Joe's who I believe won the 8th grade Diocesan championship where he was the 2nd leading scorer behind Verst on that team.

Cov Cath's team will look good if all their football players decide to continue their hoops career in high school. I think the top teams in NKY will be:

Conner

Campbell Co.

Highlands

Cov Cath

Boone Co

Brossart

How will Holmes look this year? I know they have a very talented player in 5'10 G Jamonte Wilson that will be as good as they come as far as the frosh level goes. I've heard he may be suiting up at the JV level instead though. Any information would be appreciated.

Also, do Jon Scruggs or Romello Rice play basketball for the Dogs? All three of those guys are starting or seeing time as freshmen for the Dogs football team, so the athleticism is obviously there.

Holy Cross will be better than last year but doubtful they will be good.

The two best Freshman (Beal & Avery) will not see much if any Freshman time.

They do have some size and a young Pouncy that will play for the freshman.
