St. Xavier/Moeller (OH) predictions
Moe will beat X like a red headed step-child

1A Beechwood (2-1) @ 5A Franklin County
Should be an interesting game, I hear Franklin has a stud #21 at tailback who is a beast, that doesn't play well for the Tigers, they have struggled against the run all year. The Tigers are young and they are still trying to jell as a team, but they are getting better. Wouldn't be surprised to see Franklin County win by 10+, but obviously I'm hoping for a different outcome.

Dixie Heights / Newport Central Catholic Predictions
Couldn't agree more, they and Beechwood have that mentality and it usually pays off, for the record a good, and with Dixie a borderline very good 6A team should handle a 2A foe. Kudos for NCC scheduling the way they do, it prepares them for the playoff run.

Covington Catholic vs. Highlands (Frosh) Predictions
IMO the baby colonels wins by 14+, from what I saw last week this is an average Bluebird frosh team, of course by the time they get to varsity the average team will perform well above average, that's just the way it goes in the Ft.

Dixie Heights / Newport Central Catholic Predictions
Dixie wins by 14+, to big and physical for NewCath to match up. Caple is a stud with a capital S, Dixie will pound it out and control all facets of the game IMO.
-
Cooper/Simon Kenton Predictions
From an outsiders perspective I think SK wins by 14, Cooper is still trying to figure out who they are and SK has found the formula for success thus far this season.

Beechwood 34 Holy Cross 7
Game was much closer than the final on the scoreboard, for supposedly being down HC did a nice job tonight and on their scoring drive shoved it right down BW's throat. BW needs to find a way to jell a little more quickly or it is going to be a long ride home next week from Franklin County.

Simon Kenton 30 Newport Central Catholic 7
IMO Dixie vs. SK will be one of the best games of the year. Two big teams that are playing well, it will be fun to watch

Walton-Verona/Kentucky Country Day Updates
3-0 Kentucky Country Day at half.

Dixie Heights at Beechwood Predictions
OSD I agree with you 100%, I think the staff at BW goes right into the we are a 1A program that plays both ways mentality, makes no sense when they have the depth they do, especially for a 1A program.

Moeller (OH) at Covington Catholic 9/7 Predictions
Moeller by whatever they want, I see them taking their foot off the gas in the second half and keeping it to a 30+ point margin.
-
Dixie Heights at Beechwood Predictions
IMO a close game, maybe to close to call, I think the final margin will be 3 points, I will have to chew on this one a little longer before I pick a winner.

Was Russellville's victory more impressive than Beechwood's?
Not sure week one means a lot other than a lot of mistakes were made that need to be cleared up, and young players are going to have to grow into their positions, which is sometimes painful. IMO the muddy water will start to clear about week 5.

Covington Catholic 21 Dixie Heights 13
Uncalled for, Tuesday night is amateur night at the Funny Bone!

Wishing Luke a speedy recovery, hope that it is not as serious as first reported.

Walton Verona 48 Newport 13
Nice job Bearcats, keep up the good work, you all are building a sustainable model in Walton, good luck the rest of the way.

Lloyd 63 Dayton 12
After the egg NCC laid tonight, do the Juggs have a chance?
-
Beechwood 20 Lima Sr. (OH) 14
Glad that they have one in the W column, but this game was ugly!
-
Scott County 56 Ryle 14
Gonna be a long year in union.
-
Scott 40 Holmes 14
Great win for Scott, wasn't at the game but it sure doesn't seem as though it was competitive.
-
Holy Cross/Simon Kenton Predictions
I totally agree with others on this thread, SK wins by as much as they want to and I hope all walk away from the gridiron without being injured.
-
Ludlow at Bracken County Predictions (8/30)
Rooting hard for Ludlow, would love to see that program back on the map, great community.
-
Ryle/Scott County Predictions
Scott County by 20+, Ryle started the season on a good note, but this SC team is not a depleted Cooper team.
-
Conner/Boone County Predictions
Conner by whatever they want, running clock in the second half.
-
Covington Catholic/Dixie Heights Predictions
IMO its going to be a close game to the very end, I'm going with the upset, Dixie 24-CCH-21. I just think the Moore kid is to dynamic for CCH to bottle up. The kid makes plays with his feet as well as his arm.
