  1. Kid can flat out ball, but he needs to settle down, when #3 from BW started applying pressure the kid lost his composure, which in turn hurt the team.
  2. They have a team from Canada, McGregor Secondary School this afternoon, if they beat them then they will be in the finals of the tournament at 8:00 I believe.
  3. I have to agree, Powell and the running game are going to have to take the pressure off Racke, if they can do that they will have a successful year. If for some reason they have difficulty replacing Walling and Hansel on the O line and the running game sputters...only time will tell.
  4. If SK doesn't win by 30+ Stiener needs to be fired! Just joking.
  5. Johnson kid from Holmes can not be blocked if he doesn't want to be. Kid is a beast, would like to see him play about 25lbs lighter, would be more of a factor on all snaps.
  6. IMO Racke's sophomore year is going to be very similar to Kuntz sophomore year, a lot of learning and growing. He is going to be a good one, but next year will have a lot of ups and downs.
  7. The list for Beechwood is a lot longer than that.
  8. SK had a great year in 2013, will be hard to equal in 2014 IMO. A lot of losses to graduation, but they have a good program and they wont fall far. Good thing for SK is that 6A in NKY will still be relatively weak IMO.
  9. If he can land at Cornell that would be great, other than that I State is the best offer IMO, either way congrats to the young man for having options.
  10. Congrats to Ben, a fine young man, and a player who's talent has barely been tapped. Looks like Indiana State has started tapping the NKY pipeline. Two nice players in he and Sowards heading to Terre Haute.
  11. Congrats to Mayfield and to Williamsburg. Mayfield keeps on rolling, as Ric Flair used to say, "You have to beat the man, to be the man," and for the past several years, Mayfield has been the man. Congrats and enjoy the victory.
  12. I don't like it either, but I also think we have allowed the kids to get away with hand checking, grabbing and slapping at the ball way to much in the earlier grades and AAU. When they get to a situation where hand checking is being called, they don't know how to play defense. I would much rather have the refs set the tone early and stay consistent througout the game. We need to teach defensive fundamentals at an early age.....but of course defensive fundamentals arent replayed on Sportscenter every night.
  13. I hope Kuntz get the offer from Western, had a great Jr and Sr year, grew far more as a qb than I would have ever thought, happy for him. How about the Walling kid, 6'5" and 280 doesn't grow on tree's, I've heard he has spoken with some Ivy league schools, he not only has the size, but the brains to match. I hope he gets an offer.
  14. Not biting on the bait, IMO Mayfield wins state this year and starts off ranked #1 as they should be, Frankfort will and should be rated higher than BW. If the Tigers grow their ranking will reflect it, but make no mistake about it, they have a lot of growing to do. Good news from the street is that there have been several sightings of BW football players working out after school, maybe that thing called maturity is starting to kick in, but only time will tell.
  15. I am firmly on the two hour bandwagon, kids loose interest after that and are just going through the motions. Not to mention they have homework staring them in the face when they get home. 2.5 if it is a lifting day.
  16. I, like Gold Sunrise, have picked Scott County from the beginning, no reason to change now.
  17. Congrats to Corey, I don't know the young man personally, but I have heard nothing but good things about him.
  18. Obviously BG is the best, followed by Highlands and then Scott County
  19. If SK doesn't win by 20+ I would be shocked, they are to deep and to talented to let HC stay close.
  20. Not sure, but they have obviously lost a lot, afraid it is going to be a bit of a down year for HC this year.
  21. WRONG! You don't have to like Rash, you may want him gone, but I for one was standing about 6' away from Rash when he addressed the kids, he did not blame it on the kids, he did say the better team won the game and that the team made to many mistakes, and if you watched the game and saw the 10+ penalties that were called, or tackling a heck of a running back to high, would agree with too many mistakes. Don't make something up to validate your point, if you don't like Rash just admit it, it ok, we live in a free country.
  22. Coach, I could not have said it better myself, I hope for safe travels for the visiting Tigers, a clean hard fought game and most importantly that all players walk off the field without injury.
