Franklin Co. 41-35.

Anxious to see this one Friday. What does Beechwood bring to the table this year? Not sure after Friday if the Flyers are up to the challenge. No energy last week for the flyers.

This is not your usual Beechwood team. They are not a grind it out running team. Beechwood's strength offensively is their sophomore QB and a receiving corps that goes about 7 deep. Beechwood may throw more passes in this game than Franklin County.

This could be a game that gives us some insight on Beechwood. I think Franklin County will be a tough foe.

I agree with you snakesnot_2000. Beechwood has been hit and miss so far this season. At times they have looked really good and at times they have looked not good at all. The coaches are making adjustments each week. We will see what adjustments happen this week and how they work out. This game will be good for those around the state to get an idea on Beechwood since most don't realize how good Dixie is and no one knows if Lima is any good. Dixie's only loss was to Covington Catholic and it took a goal line stand at the end of the game by CCH to hold on for that win. Lima scored 42 and 49 in their two games since Beechwood and only scored 14 versus the Tigers. It will be interesting to see how Franklin County's wide open offense does against the Tigers defense.

Franklin County can't be kept out of the end zone. The question is can Beechwood. Franklin County is going to score 40 on 15 defenders let alone 11 of them. Beechwood will have to score 41.

Last year with a better team than this year's, Franklin County had two games that they scored less than 40. So it is possible to hold them to less than 40 with just 11 defenders. Not likely, but possible :)

In order for Beechwood to win this week they will have to stop the run. Sounds crazy but Franklin County has 2 backs that can run the rock.

Then this really will be a tough test for Beechwood. They have struggled stopping the run all year.

Franklin will win, but BW will compete

I think Defense has been improved this year for FCHS still not great but better. Offense has scored some points but they also have sputtered at times and turned the ball over down in their own territory a few times.....Against a championship program like the Tigers have they will have to put it all together.

Franklin is #2 in 5A lit ratings and Beechwood is #6 in lit 1A ratings. Does this mean anything? I think Beechwood has a very tough matchup. If they can stay in this game , win or lose, then I think they are 1A contender. If they can't compete then I think they may be a year away.

No matter what, I would never say beechwood is a year away just because of how they compete every year, however they may be a little outmatched this week. It will still be a good game. Nail biter all the way and I would say only a touchdown will be the difference in the game.

Having seen Mayfield on film twice already I can tell you I think Beechwood is a year away regardless of this game. In terms of the Franklin County team from this year they are a better team then last year because they get more snaps offensively because their defense is better thus far. Its alot easier to win games when you can have the ball for 25 minutes and score 42 then when you have it for 15 minutes and score 60. Sounds crazy but its true. It's easier to manipulate possessions when you are so good offensively knowing that your defense can force three and outs and not be on the field 7-8 minutes at a time. There is far less pressure on either side of the ball that way.
