  1. :thumb: Rowan, Lawrence and Greenup will be battling it out for that top spot!!
  2. Thanks for sharing! I just had my son watch this.
  3. Who all will be coming back? I know Hunter James will be a Senior next year. Who else?
  4. We take a "real" vacation about every two years. These trips are usually to a beach somewhere. Last year we rented a house on Folly Beach (outside Charleston, SC) for a week. We got the best of a combination Beach/historical vacation you could find. This year it is back to a trip to visit family.
  5. Filed 2 weeks ago and already have the return in hand with about half of it spent.
  6. About 15 or so, a good representation from next year's 7th grade parents attended the meeting.
  7. Elected new officers: Josh Grayson - President Dena Thornton - 1rst Vice President Jeff Sparks - 2nd Vice President Terena Tackett - Treasurer Christy Aeh - Secretary
  8. We did get the new lights last year about mid season. They are really nice!
  9. Last night the Board approved a bid from Sports Turf. LLC for approx. 33 thousand dollars to replace the entire irrigation system and reseed the field with Bermuda grass. This work is scheduled to start sometime in March. The new bleachers, field house, etc. is still in the works. The board will send this out to be rebid in March and hope to start construction sometime in June. The new bonding ability will not be available until after July 1. I was told that they do not have to start the process completely over with the state, just resubmit the final bid. I will keep everyone posted.
  10. I will be at the meeting Monday night and plan to speak out for our planned improvements!
  11. Final Greenup defense stifles Rams LLOYD By BRANDON ROSEN / For The Independent — It may have only been the second game back for Greenup County head coach Tim Fraley after his two-week suspension, but it looked like his team hasn’t missed a beat as Greenup County beat Raceland 58-43 Saturday night at the Greenhouse http://www.dailyindependent.com/localsports/local_story_024005207.html
  12. Prayers out for you and your family!
  13. Absolutely! Greenup County, for the first year in a long time, hasn't stopped lifting since Coach Copley arrived. The boys get a few breaks here and there, (one week after the season ended,) but for the most part they are ALWAYS lifting!!!
  14. Ideally, I would love to see Greenup open up its' 2010 season with new facilites. Realistically, if the construction money is not in place then there are still alot of bureaucratic hoops to be jumped through before construction can start. I know final plans were shown to the Board but the State has to also approve. I thought the money for the new bleachers was already in place and a bid accepted. The Board should be able to tell us when this work is scheduled. The last I heard the School was taking over field maintenance and were going to replace the entire sprinkler system and reseed the field. There is a School Board meeting next Monday at 6 p.m. at the High School. Please make some calls or come to the meeting in support of Greenup Football.
  15. Thanks for the update recpark. I knew they were waiting until spring to rebid out the fieldhouse and school construction but the bleacher money already exists and this should be moving along. I wish they had went for the turf from the beginning, also!!!:sssh:
  16. Prayers for you and all of Haiti coming from Greenup County. Thanks for what you are doing!
  17. Fewer dollars spent on social security and medicare...maybe obesity and all the fast food chains are part of a conspiracy?
  18. Heading out to my sisters for some margaritas and few card games.
  19. You're right Coupon, change is never easy, but I think we really embraced it this past year and the excitement continues. I can't wait for the 2010 season to begin!! (This will be our 11th year working and supporting these boys!!) Musketeers keep lifting those weights, get stronger and more disciplined! Now is the time for the Juniors to really step up. Next year is your final season. Give it your all! Everyone remember our Football Banquet is scheduled for January 12th, 7 pm at Greenbo State Park. Hope to see everyone there!
  20. Just in time to save Texas Tech a nice hunk of cash...
