I am glad they decided to combine. I think having the middle schools work under a coach directed by Coach Copley will be best for the future of Greenup County Football!!! You mentioned that he asked for the $45K, was this voted on and approved? How will this be paid back? From gate revenue?

Best wishes to the Elliott County Seniors. This team has really brought a national spotlight to Kentucky High School basketball and should be very proud of their accomplishments. This is good for everyone involved in the sport. Congratulations to the Bulldogs, I wish you the best.

Greenup will be much improved this year, from their previous 3-8 record. They will make a solid showing in Distict play and any team who overlooks them will be seriously surprised!

This is good news, hopefully everyone can put the past behind and support Musketeer Football. I would love to see the student section packed for our home opener against Notre Dame!!!!

Practice was great yesterday. Though it seems we are weeding out the boys who really don't want to work. (only 33 at practice yesterday) This is a good thing, I would rather have a small committed team than a large team full of slackers anyday!!! The coach is now having them wrestle for their spots. For example if two want to come out for the same position at practice and run the drills, they have to wrestle for it!!! He changes it up several times and gives several the opportunity. There will no longer be any complacency at Greenup!!!!!!

Doesn't the school pay for the band teacher? And as coupon stated, the weights are for the entire school, not just for football. I doubt when the Board approved this expense they realized that there would be such backlash from everyone else!

OMG, I agree Coupon. The Band runs and keeps all the concession stand money. They contribute NOTHING to the general fund. Perhaps they can store the instruments in THEIR concession stand!!!!

Congrats to Coach Wood and Glascow. It is time to move forward and concentrate on the team!

This is always a good situation.

Practice is awesome! Coach Copley and his assistants: Burchett, Cook, Chaplan, Mullins and Meenach are really pumping the boys up!! They are doing alot of teaching, alot of hitting, and the boys are loving it! I can't wait to see the spring game.

Coach Copley really has the team and his staff motivated. He "coached" every kid, and there was so much teaching going on, by the coaches, that I was amazed! He spoke to the boosters last night, and was very impressive.

Sidelinedoc, since he is eligible to lift weights, is he?

Does this keep him from lifting weights?
