can't believe some of the negativity....I didn't know there were only 10-12 elite players in girls basketball in the entire country...I mean, that's all UT and UCONN bring in a year at the most. geez. Hammond is a stud and will make whatever program she goes to VERY happy to have her.

That's because hardly anybody who has actually been to diddle wants to move it anywhere else. And could you imagine how crazy it would be to take the next 16 highest rated teams?? Teams would have to worry all year about their computer rank and would be beating teams as badly as they could (b/c it would help their ranking). This would be a disaster.

everyone talks about how young the 8th is, so I wanted some kind of stat to back that up. I have taken each of the 8 teams that made the tourny and compiled an average of their grade, 8-9-10-11-12. The kids just had to be on the varsity roster. Some interesting stuff.... Youngest to Oldest Anderson County 9.1 Walton-Verona 9.9 South Oldham 10.2 Shelby County 10.3 Oldham County 10.3 Owen County 10.4 Simon Kenton 10.8 Carroll County 11.0 Kind of what you all may have guessed, although scary to think the early frontrunners for next year are all 1-2-3 on this list. Does this matter, or do I just have too much time on my hands? haha. Either way, something interesting to look at.

you're not required to report stats unless you make it to the state tournament. As far as recognition, that's the flipside of the argument, although it really doesn't seem to have effected the Anderson kids in the last several years.

Brown is a starter who plays starter minutes. She had 2 fouls in the 1st quarter last night. That's the reason she sit so long in the 2nd. Just as any player, her minutes will vary depending on her foul situation and how she is playing.

Anderson doesn't provide free scouting reports by reporting stats. I can understand your frustrations as a fan not knowing stats but it's the coaches decision to report them or not.

Shelby has a great shot at upsetting South. They are playing well and have the confidence of knowing the have already defeated South once. That being said, I expect coach Wright to have an improved game plan and have his kids ready to go. They came into the year as the favorite and have every reason to feel like they can win this whole thing. Carroll and Walton should be an interesting one as well. Walton has defeated Carroll all three times but Carroll has closed the gap each time. Im sure coach medford will have a great gameplan and have his girls ready to go. Owen seems to get a hardluck draw every year, and despite being the district winner, it would be quite and upset to see them defeat Simon at Simon. Still, Owen has a nice team capable of pulling off the feat. Anderson and Oldham should be interesting as well. Anderson has the size to deal with Lape on the block but Oldhams style is one not many teams employ. Will the young kids from Anderson handle Oldhams pressure?

Just curious, why not send the whole team at Moss if you have to? Is ryle singling her and hoping that she alone can't beat them? I haven't watched their games, just curious as to how Ryle is trying to defend Boone and specifically Moss....

I didn't realize south was on such a streak CM, very nice. Some nice wins in that group as well. Meade, Bardstown, Oldham, Owen are quality teams. Maybe not a signature win, but very impressive none the less. Oldham looked good Wednesday night. The PG (#00) was impressive, as was Lape. I hadn't seen North play this year but they must have just played poorly. They looked to be no match for Oldham. I like South tonight though. I think their length and pressure could give Oldham some problems. South IMO is just a better team right now. Should be a good game though!

Sound a little sore to me. Sure, winning the region is the ultimate goal but don't act like winning the district isn't important or doesn't matter. It matters. Also, to where in the 8th do you have to make 5 hour bus drives? Nice game recap. It was a great game. There will be several strong runner-ups this year. Im not sure seeding in this thing will be a big deal.

Might they meet again?? Louisville Christian and a strong 7th region field will have a lot to say about that though.

It's not practical to seed the state tournament. The region would be possible to seed if each team had to play so many in region games to determine region standings...but really seeding the region isn't hardly practical either. The attempt at placing winners against runner ups is a compromise to this. However at the district level where you are only talking about 4 or 5 teams playing each other at least once is certainly a possibility and seeding is only fair IMO. I think it's a shame that districts aren't forced to seed...or at least forced to be uniform across the state, seed or not.

IMO the all region team should be done differently. Im not sure how it would be better served but I don't really think very many pay much attention to it as it is. Too many politics involved IMO.

I got Franklin. Cause they are way better.
