I know the team has been chosen, but do not know who all made the team. I was told that Kelli Dixon and Courtney Sandlin made All Region 1st Team from Walton.

All Region team slots are awarded to players for great regular season play. You do not have to be on a team that makes it to the region tournament to be one of the best in the region.

 

All-Region TOURNAMENT teams - which are chosen during the region tournament - are rewards for great play in the region tournament itself.

 

By choosing the all-region team just prior to the tournaments, it highlights this distinction, and doesn't confuse the issue with players receiving two awards that sound so similar.

If I'm correct, that's 2-Seniors, 3-Juniors, 3-Sophmores, 1-Freshman and 2-8th graders. Lots of young talent in the region!

What schools are these girls all from? I know a few.

IMO the all region team should be done differently. Im not sure how it would be better served but I don't really think very many pay much attention to it as it is. Too many politics involved IMO.
